Can anything be done about CAPTCHA?

I've seen it a couple of times, once when starting a new thread, once when replying to an existing one. The only way I've got past it is by temporarily using a different browser - which, curiously, didn't demand a captcha.
I did wonder if it was because my usual browser has noscript running, whereby I allow only the bare minimum of scripts so as to provide the basic functionality for any website, so if something had changed on MSE that would explain it - but obviously not if others have been experiencing it as well.0 -

Matt is taking this into our product meeting with our Tech team. We'll update you as soon as we have something to tell you. Hopefully, though, you'll notice a change before we post to let you know.
Still happening
An update of what happened at the meeting would be welcome.0 -

I get the feeling that the captcha's wont stop the spammers. I have had messages from some spammers when i post replies warning everyone they are spammers.
I used to follow them around waiting for them to create the next post and it winds some of them up. How dare i interrupt their spamming session.
It will stop the BOTS but are the kitchen ones actually bots? ( they appear to be the bulk of the spam )Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Is a captcha that stupid I'm not a robot thing you have to tick? If so, I had one the other day on here.0
-
This morning I've had to tick 'I'm not a robot' then choose all the pictures of trees. Then tick 'I'm not a robot' again, before the post would submit.Bulletproof0

6 pages of photos and 2 robot screens today just for one post.:mad:0

Three robot screens and two lots of photos - boats and headphones. At least I'm getting some variety to keep it interesting.Bulletproof0
