Erm, yes it's a thing!
So in the spirit of Friday.. i.e., just for a bit of fun...
Show us your favourite meal to make with eggs for under a fiver.
And to make it really difficult....
NOT OMELETTE! :rotfl:

Bubble and squeak with fried eggs and baked beans is my go to. I loved Shakshuka (?) spicy eggs and tomatoes when in morocco but never been able to replicate properly at home.0

I have hens, so every day is Egg Day for us! One of my favourite ways to use up an egg glut is to make the South African fruity mince dish called Bobotie, which you top with a curry flavoured egg custard before baking. (I use about half a dozen beaten eggs, and less cream in my version).0

I can manage scrambled egg on toast.
I would cook Shakshuka like this but I can never get it to look as delicious & entrancing.
I hadn't remembered that it is kosher etc and thus ticks other guest boxes. I should probably try harder...0 -
Under a fiver? I can tell you for under 10p!

Egg fried rice - it's become our standard Saturday evening fare. :drool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Fry a chopped onion and two cloves of garlic. Add two tins of tomatoes and a large handful of frozen green beans and some sweet corn. Pour into an ovenproof dish then make 4 indentations and drop an egg into each one. Bake in the oven until the eggs are done.
I love this with grated cheese over the top.0 -
Without a doubt egg and chips :):) cheap as chips in fact0
