New Diary-New Start.
I had a diary on the debt free wannabe board...life has kinda got in the way over the last month or so. It's been very challenging.
my family and I are trying to adjust to a 'new kind of normal'.
So I decided it was time to start a brand new diary, this time on the mortgage free wannabe board.
Goals and objectives:
Primary objective is to pay off the mortgage.
Build up some savings
Tackle some DIY jobs
declutter and tidy the rest of the home.
Lots to do.
right, targets for 2016
1). pay 10k off the mortgage
2). Clear out the loft
3). Sell loads of my stuff I no longer need-this will raise much needed funds to achieve number 1).
4). Do some maintenance on house and/or garden
5). Finish some decorating
6). Save 4K emergency fund-only got £300 so far-things keep coming up so I need to use it.
7) save 3k projects fund (PF)
I think that's a good start for a list.
Let's get busy!
Just adding a link to recipe thread.

Not sure of exact mortgage figure, I figure it's probably somewhere around 57k.
The aim is to have it paid off by 2021 at the latest.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Welcome back, Tattycath, we have missed you .
Spooky - our mortgage is almost exactly the same as yours. I am hoping that once the debt-clearing is done, I will have this frugal-living off to such a fine art that we will whittle away the mortgage in a few years, so it will possibly be a similar target date to yours.
Take care, have subscribed to your new diary .0 -
