Sometimes it just has to be done Themadvix :D

I'm having a naughty day today and partook in the daily food order at lunch at work- £5.50 spent but it was very much worth it!

£2.51 gained in interest in our joint bills account surprisingly so I've swept that to the mortgage account too today so feeling quite chipper.

Friends leaving drinks tonight in town, gf wants to eat at a street food place doing chicken wings (I hope it's not too pricey!) then having a few drinks to celebrate her new job.

Thank goodness it's the weekend :)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Called the mortgage company to confirm last months interest charged- it was an eye watering £416.95!

That's £13.95 per day in November- I really want to reduce this down as soon as possible so little and often payments will be needed and some plans for some bigger chunks too!

Last night was fab- £10 on food (amazing chicken Katsu burger), £25 on a few drinks for us all and £10 at the casino ( :o )

I'm not usually a casino fan but thought I'd have a small flutter and that was it- lots of my friends spent big but also won big...I've never been one for gambling and so erred on the side of caution.

Today we are visiting our friends for a cuppa who've bought on the same development- they've been in for a week and I think want to show off the stuff they have done as it's very exciting.

Just chilling with some coffee and lounging enjoying a Saturday :D

Morning morning! It's beautiful and sunny outside with a gorgeous smattering of frost so I'm feeling pretty chipper!

Woke up in a lot of pain with my back this morning (long term injury from a car accident at 16) as it's decided to play up, so meds taken, hot cuppa made and chilling for twenty minutes before getting ready for the day.

We have a cousins baby shower in London today so will be setting off shortly, should be fun I just hope it's not too active with my back being dodge.

Yesterday was a nice day, went to collect some reserved items for the nephews- bought them items off their lists one each being a car for £50 so our assumption was it'd be fairly huge. We were wetting ourselves laughing when the Argos asssistant bought them over and they were the size of remote controls!! I hope they like them though that's the main thing.

Went to M&S whilst there and mooches around- they were sampling ALL of the Christmas food (so I didn't need lunch!) three mini cheesecakes, smoked salmon blinis, roasted chicken, scotch eggs etc later I was stuffed. We found a fab pressie for two guys in our lives but we wandered around debating them and put them back- I've internet searched and found similar items for £3.51 cheaper each so will order online :money:

Brought the Christmas tree home from parents house so will put that up this week and found the presents box with Christmas cards, gift wrap, bottle bags etc so will raid that shortly. (I buy lots of it reduced after Christmas or in normal sales and keep it aside! 15p for 30 Christmas cards etc!)

Bought us both some slippers and slipper socks for around the house from Primark so not too spendy!

Friends house looks fab and really diff to ours as there's is carpeted throughout with vinyl in bathrooms, they are awaiting their tiling for the kitchen but it looks beautiful! Also got an idea for where to hang our towels....hooks on the wall behind the en suite door as we've been putting them on the bannister which I don't like! :(

Made an oven dinner (turkey escalopes- YS- oven chips & broc/asparagus also YS and frozen. Easier than take out and cheaper, then chilled together watching box sets. Pretty lovely relaxed evening in the house!

We're both home most of this week so will look at meal planning tonight and buy anything needed tomorrow, however think we'all mainly need some fresh veg as down to half a courgette, and maybe some chicken/fish for the week one night.

Cousin and family visiting tomorrow evening so will write their card and wrap their gift tonight (family gift of musical shortbread tin from M&S, nice bottle of red and a chocolate snow globe for their little girl, not got anything for the baby so maybe will buy something small tomorrow lunch?)

    Morning!
Yesterday was a spendy day :o Went to the baby shower which was just lovely, mum to be is looking blooming and it was great to see lots of family. There was a lot of cake leftover so I've come home with four scones!

However as the food was of the cake variety we didn't really eat, which meant we succumbed to the lure of wagamamas on the way home. The good news is our food spend this week was minimal against our budget (£9.86 against the original weekly budget of £50) but with wagas we have now hit last weeks food budget....

On the positive side I've decided to send my Black Friday beautiful goth boots back. Whilst they are beautiful they are a bit too roomy (big) and in honesty think I won't get to wear them often at all, so to save on space/clutter and also pennies I am going to send them back. Not sure if you get postage refunded but if not it's still £20 more back in the bank.

Tilly tidied yesterday after wagas so another 45p to the mortgage, so far it's hit £15 with interest, tilly tidies and a few small pinecone payouts in less than a month so small steps to reach the bigger targets.

Ten days until payday, I'm not sure if my big brother is coming for Christmas yet. We've invited him and he said he would confirm with his girlfriend and now he's gone a bit quiet and not replied to texts/messenger so I shall try and call tonight.

Awaiting the plumber turning up (he's half hour late!) and then have to go into the office as I should hear about my teams jobs today so will go in to give them the news. I'm really really hopeful that it's positive news for everyone.

    Evening all,
Today felt like a very very long Monday so I was glad to be heading home at 4. Cousin and his wife and kids came over after work and it was really lovely to see them all, they've just had a new arrival of a little baby boy who we visited when he was a week old and he's now already six weeks old and growing so much!

They didn't want dinner making so we nipped to Tescos and bought some sausage rolls (their little girl loves them) on two pack for £2, a box of mince pies which embarrassingly we forgot to get out & warmed through some samosas from yesterday's baby shower. All went swimmingly.

Now, a few years back I would have splashed out and bought trays of party foods, cake, dips & crisps and then probably binned a lot that would be wasted. This worked perfectly well and cost £2.89! :D

Just had a toasted muffin for dinner as am not really hungry and chilling watching Scandal which I'm totally hooked on.

Visiting clients tomorrow which should mean lunch is provided, same on Thursday and Wednesday is my teams christmas meal which we'll claim back on expenses so this weeks lunches should be pretty cheap :D

Off out for dinner on Wednesday night with friends which I'm very much looking forward to, and going to a John Lewis Christmas shopping event on Thursday which will include free mince pies & glass of bubbly but going with the girlfriend this time so I'm very much looking forward to it.

And in other news I ordered the pressies for the two guys, but then found them even cheaper at Sainsburys! So bought them then & there (using vouchers from work!) and emailed to cancel the online order which has already been refunded. So bought them for half the price of what we saw on Saturday.

Not much money shuffling now before payday, will simply be tilly tidies from any spends. Roll on the 15th!!

Not much to report today, nice team lunch out today for our Christmas meal (so a free lunch) but a pants day at work.

My job has been confirmed as safe however it will change and not sure what that looks like yet.

Small tilly tidy of 11p today, waiting for work expenses to clear and the refund from the online gift that I cancelled.

Waiting for pay day to come round to finish the Christmas shopping :D

Off out to dinner tonight with two other couples which I'm really looking forward to (& hoping comes in under budget!)

Yes Gallygirl, it is very good news! I didn't quite phrase my last post right; very much relieved to still have a job and will see what the changes bring.

At least the mortgage will get paid :)

Dinner tonight was fab, at a local Indian restaurant that is renowned for good food, and came in at £20 so bang on the amount budgeted.
I have however eaten so much food that I feel a little ill now. I think I will be having a salad for lunch at my suppliers tomorrow somehow!

7 days until payday and counting.....
