Redecorating last night was fun- spent just over 4 hours undercoating the large lounge, stairs and and upstairs hallway, going back on Monday night to help with the next bits of painting!
Received the credit notification from Pinecone for £3 so have requested the £3 to shove towards the mortgage, and then noticed £6.27 £co has confirmed so I have requested to withdraw the funds and will push that over toonot a bad morning!
Gym session this morning done, friend who I initially started training with five years ago has rejoined this gym after a year at David Lloyd, it's fab to have him back at the gym. I find working out hard but as I know some people there it can be quite motivational as they either cheer you in, or just have a chat which is lovely :heartpuls
Just having a quick rest & coffee, then time to shower change & pack for London....wooooop mini weekend away

That's an interesting article although I do think she went too far. I think I follow similar beliefs - I don't have lots of possessions and don't 'miss' not having stuff, in fact it saves heaps of time in cleaning and tidying
However, life is too short to always have a pint of water or never catch a bus  Lots of us on here prove daily that it's possible to save money and live a perfectly happy life at the same time. I think it's about making sensible choices and when you do spend money then you appreciate it more

Thanks for the tip on Prolific DFOD- I'll make sure I check in on it at least daily
Fab weekend in London with the lovely girlfriend- I prebooked parking with JustPark which saved a bit (cost £23 for the two days off Liverpool street), we walked everywhere as the weather was clear (40,000 steps on Fitbit for the two days!).
On a Saturday we had some light nibbles at wahacas with a beer then went to meet family at a lovely dim sum restaurant with happy hour cocktails in Shoreditch, then went to the London Cocktail Club for the birthday party which was pretty fun! Got back to the hotel at 2am and. Crashed out immediately.
Yesterday I had a bit of a headachy hangover (!) so we checked out of the hotel and left our bags in left luggage, then went off for brunch. We had virgin brunches as couldn't face alcohol and it was very nice although pretty expensive for my tastes, we then wandered round Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Brick Lane areas & enjoyed the sights, as well as sharing an indulgent hot chocolate with some much shaved chocolate on top (from Dark Sugar)and a naughty pecan salted brownie from Lily Vanillis.
Lovely last minute weekend away, and we spent £60 each in total which I'm very pleased with and it felt like we didn't scrimp or worry about money either
Working from home today and then popping to the gym tonight- pretty pleased I'm getting there 3-4 times a week currently so making the most of my £18 membership. Food from cupboards/stores tonight. Payday is on Friday so going to try to avoid having to food shop before then.
A couple small tilly tidies to the mortgage over the weekend- waiting for more payments swiped to come out and will tilly tidy those too.
Carpet man is booked for the 20th and the flooring is £200 all fitted so can then crack on with the silversmith room being set up.
Have the gf's cousins all over this weekend for our housewarming, so we're trying to workout logistics, what (veggie) food to make and get it all sortedthink there will be around 20 of us in the day, and around 15 for the night out in town after so lots of stuff to book/organise including beds, towels etc for all the staying guests.
Quite exciting really!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Regular savings account now opened for the next 12 months with 5% interest- should earn £96 if I can not touch it for the 12 months!
Have moved all the funds from the savings account as only earning 0.5% so may open a savings account with TSB (as I have online banking with them and they are pretty easy to use) will check around though gor somewhere to stash the cash as not sure I can be trusted with it in my main account!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Today was a mixed day- had a very long meeting scheduled with some very senior people that I had been very anxious about for the past week- I think it went ok, however my senior boss was in the meeting so I'll get feedback tomorrow.
I was a little weak and gave in to the work canteen & bought a poached egg bap for breakfast with a skinny latte- spent £2.60 (subsidised canteen) but I really didn't need to have spent the money unnecessarily. Ate my rice & roasted veg for lunch and took a walk for fresh air.
Last minute decision tonight to go for some dinner with some colleagues- fortunately it was on expenses due to having missed a Christmas meal- lovely evening filled with giggling. It was much better than the evening in cleaning the house That I had planned (gf away with work tonight).
Picked up a top I ordered over Christmas from Dotty P's - then had a wander round Boots, I picked up a (cheaper) moisturiser and some smellies before talking some sense into myself. I put them back and left without spending anything, but I used some perfume samples so I smelt nice for going for dinner
Still focussing on using things up- threw out two empty perfume bottles last week and have been using up lots of storecupboard stuff that's been hanging around forever- e.g. Rice flakes for porridge that have been hanging around, mini jam jars from hotel stays etcFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Hi people's!
Not a huge amount to report- the £6.27 cashback & £3 quidco payments have cleared so I have moved the money across to the mortgage so total £15.68 additional paid in January.
Managed a no spend day yesterday, had porridge for brekkie and soup for lunch in the office and also avoided the biscuits/chocolates/cakes making their way round the office!
Working from home today with a massive migraine- got some important work done which feels good, now just going to make some soup for lunch (& spares for freezer for work lunches!)
Off to read some diaries after food, then Back to work!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
