    Hi all,

Just asking - what is the aim of this challenge? Is it how many NSDs in a row in the month or how many NSDs altogether in the month?
Do you count direct debits etc? Or is this No Spend excluding bills?

Struggling with debt atm so this seems a great challenge! :)

    Many thanks! :)

Igor was telling me that Cheffie's truss was again found loitering in the porridge.Apparently it improved the flavour spectacularly :eek:

Well done to everyone who is approaching or who has reached their target. As we say here in sunny Switzerland : 'Chapeau!' :j:j:j

    Hi there!

The rules are up to you basically. The aim of the challenge is really to better manage your money, spend less in general, avoid impulse buys.
Some people have grocery budgets, budgets for toiletries, pet food, presents, the leccy bill......the list could go on and on.Some people count every spend as spend, if that makes sense.

It's you who decides what rules to follow, you decide how many nsds you want to aim for.
It's often best to start with a small target and then increase it as the month goes on and depending on your total.
    HTH :)

Marmiterule... thanks very much for replying.
Sounds great that it's flexible. I use the cash envelope system, so although I have 'spend budgets' I guess any amount of daus a month worthing towards a no-spend is a step closer to being in control! :)

I think I'll start with 10 NSDs (not necessarily consecutively- though that would be a bonus!) for June, and if I can do more, that will be fab. One good thing about an addictive type personality is that anything that's new/novelty/competitive becomes a habit/addictive! :)

Until June I'm going to be mindful and try and sort the budge so things are bought beginning of a week to maximise the possibility of consecutive NSDs.

Again, many thanks! :) Hope your NSDs are going well :)

So what are people's tricks to have NSDs?

Are there any of you that have certain things you do so you can guarantee a couple of NSDs a week/month? I'd love to hear about them :)

    Shopping list
    Meal plan
    Packed lunch for work
Go out without your purse/debit cards only taking an 'emergency' fiver/tenner.
If you don't have it on you you can't spend it! :money:

Yes, that's definitely a bad habit of mine - not wanting to leave the house without my purse!! Its a great idea, and I will definitely start this - though something tells me it will be a hard habit to break!

Yes I think doing one weekly food shop instead of an 'as and when' is also on my 'to do' list in order to get some NSDs in a row!

    Thanks for your ideas :)

I've had 3 NSDs since joining, so feeling pleased :)
