Hi benben, Happy New Diary, and soon to be Happy New House!
Good thinking to stay with your Mum in the interim.
Looking forward to following your endeavours in 2017.0 -
Hi benben, subscribing and continuing to follow your journey. As someone who is mortgage free I can definitely recommend it. We have only ever moved once and live in a decent size bungalow with the loft converted. A few times we thought of moving to a bigger property but as this would have meant a bigger longer mortgage we decided against it. The best decision we have made. Paid it off when I was 48 with a lot of hard work. It's a lovely feeling knowing that our home is our own and we don't have to worry about having a roof over our heads. Hi, another list maker here, I couldn't cope without keeping a list!
Fingers crossed for a smooth house move, we are planning to move next year too but are still decorating ready to go up for sale at the moment.0 -
Morning all, a few surveys cleared from my inbox this morning, I have some more to get through a bit later on. I am going to do the freezer / food cupboard inventory in a bit then I can see what bits I need to buy at the shops.
I will also go through all my banking stuff and make sure everything's where it should be ready for the start of the new year.
Maybe later on we will take Mums dog for a walk along the beach too.Mortgage Total: £55,900 / £75,000

So the inventories are done, once I'd thrown away all the out of date stuff from the cupboard there isn't too much left to use up
Food Cupboard:
Honey & mustard sauce x 2
Butter chicken sauce
Tomato pasta sauce
Passata
Raspberry Jam
Marmite
Honey
Chutney x 3
Gravy granules
2 packs of rice
1 pack of noodles
1 bag of pasta
Custard
Rice Pudding
Soup x 3
Pineapple rings
Hot dogs
Large jar of coffee
Peppermint tea
SR Flour
Plain flour
Cornflour
Lifetime supply of herbs / stock cubes
White wine vinegar
Sunflower oil
2 x icing sugar
Various baking stuff (vanilla pods / food colouring etc)
Chestnuts
Freezer:
Viennetta (won't last long, forgot it was there )
2 x frozen cocktails (ditto)
1/2 box fish fingers
Bag of prawns
1 portion spaghetti bolagnese
2 x salmon fillets
Beef joint
Beef mince x 2
Sausages
Chicken fillets
Chicken thighs
Chicken goujons x 3 packs
Stuffing balls
Garlic baguette
Hash browns
Roast potatoes
This isn't too bad, there is also tonnes of cereals / crisps / biscuits etc but that cupboard has a very high turnover rate so I'm not too worried about that one So let's see how much of this stuff can be used up asapMortgage Total: £55,900 / £75,000

I have 4 pull out baskets under my bed, I have sorted two of them so far - the first one is now empty ready for ebay stuff to be put in it. The second one is my birthday / occasions one, I have enough giftbags to lasst the year in there I reckon, and I also did a Phoenix cards order before Christmas and have stocked up on birthday cards for the year too, so I shouldn't need to spend on those either.
I also found several bits I had put away for Christmas including a box of gingerbread biscuits, a gingerbread house, pastry tartlets, creme patisserie, a bottle of passion fruit coulis, a big tube of smarties, a box of 5 costa coffee syrups , 2 weekly planner pads from Tiger (starts this week :j) - I will probably use one at home and one at work as ds already has one.Mortgage Total: £55,900 / £75,000

Wonder how long the lost xmas bits will last:rotfl:0 -
So we've been shopping as ds has been saving up for his xbox one, the shops were mad busy so am glad to get home again. I did get some food bits while we were out, spent about £45 which should now keep us going until new year.
The rest of the day will be spent pottering and sorting indoorsMortgage Total: £55,900 / £75,000
