We went last week to Tesco to do some recycling and pick up points but at the Irlam one in Manchester they are now saying it is 4 cans per point. We hardly ever drink soft drinks in cans so all the recycling is going back in the wheelie bind the council provided.

Except you only get points for drinks cans - nothing for plastic bottles any more.

Does this still happen at any Tesco store? Just looked on their website and in England there's no automated recycling points north of Nottingham or east of Machester. I suspect this was only a pilot that was never expanded? Although based on the price of scrap aluminium I'm surprised Tesco aren't doing this all over the country!

I know what you mean kittykitten, our nearest one here is 2 hours away from where i live, even though we have 3 tesco stores in our town and another being built nearby! We are fast becoming tesco town and no recycling for points!

Is it actually worth your time to take cans there? I like to collect my tesco points but im very dubious if this is a good use of time or not?

I'd say it not worth doing it if you wasn't due go to the store, as the cost, time and effort involved outway the return in points.

It's seemed like the recycling points were only at Tesco extra stores
