Both cards consolidated to the new card with the lower interest rate - balance and credit limit.
I did it on the phone with no problems at all. Just waiting for the confirmations to come through now :-)SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Leave it a few days and you can see if your eligible for another card :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well my cards consolidated, left it a few days to see if I can get a new card and it said no because of affordability. Very strange, I have a good income, my credit debts total around 4k but 3k of that is BNPL 0% stuff which I'm making use of.
Fair enough say 'no' but due to affordability is a bit odd.
Oh well!0 -
I get the same affordability, it's because my newest about is only 6 weeks old. To be eligible for a second card the account you currently hold must be 4 months or older.0

I think it's approaching three years old, something like that. The one I consolidated into it was about a year old.
No big deal, just thought it was strange0 -
Maybe you need to give it a week or so and try again.0

Yea I will, no rush anyway just wanted to try the experiment0

I tried again last night and was 100% pre-approved, so I submitted application and got a new card with a £1000 limit. Higher APR than my other Capital One card though.
So what are the rules on consolidating these? Does the new one have to be 6 months old?0 -
I don't think it matters. Just say you want to keep the card with the lowest APR. Perhaps it wouldn't harm to keep the new card for a few months to get a payment history.0

I did mine as soon as I received the new card. I did it over the phone and she said it was all done.
I need to ring them back though because when I log into my accounts they still haven't merged. Everything is still the same.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
