6 months out of work and still no luck

my mistake I though someone might actually be able to advise if there was anything I could claim, as I dont know enough about claiming, and surely it cant be right that I am expected to support my son on only 56 per week he could live anywhere else for that, and when my daughter turns 20 in February2014 I shall be expected to support her for nothing until her college course ends and as she hopes to be a teaching assistant will not find work until the september.
But heh will try elsewhere...
I'm sorry OP, you've been asking the same questions on here for over 4 years and the answers are still the same. They'll still be the same if you ask them elsewhere because the answers, hard as it may be for you to accept, are correct.0 -
Are you able to get a reduced rate in council tax as you are the only worker in the home at the moment? I know it's not a lot but everything helps.Trying to make the money last the month.0

OP being stuck inside isnt going to help your son with his social skills. He needs to get out and make some friends.0

.It sounds as if he doesn't have much in the way of qualifications, have you considered encouraging him back into education/training?
You're not doing him any good or helping him with budgeting by taking his JSA and then giving it back to him for fares - just take his keep and leave him the rest to budget for himself. As for buying him clothes and an x box subscription, it's daft to do this and then complain about it - these are luxuries for a young unemployed person.
I think clothes are a necessity really, not a luxury. A person needs to look presentable and tidy whether they are unemployed or working.
I agree that an X box subscription is a luxury.0 -
The job centre should have a career advisor who could help your son with progressing to something that he would like to do. An apprenticeship would be a good option.
Your daughter will need to get a job when she finishes her studies and hopefully, your son will get a job.
If you truly are facing homelessness then cut backs have been suggested ie Xbox subscription but you don't seem open to that.0 -
I also agree, not enough experience, get him on a volunteer placement. Ive spent a decent chunk of the last 4 years out of work and Ive got 3 professional qualifications and 20 years work experience. Its tough out there just now full stop, the more experience he has the better.0

or you could just wash and clean what clothes you currently have. You dont have to keep buying new clothes all the time0 -
If he's got poor social skills, I think that's where he needs to focus his efforts. There are very few jobs where you can avoid using 'social skills' - if not in the interview, then in interacting with colleagues/customers day-to-day.Mortgage when started: £330,995

Well that depends doesnt it? Jeans and t shirts can wear out and get holes and rips in etc. Things dont last forever.
OP is there anything like the Princes Trust available in your area which could help him?0
