Just to clear things up, before I ordered or submitted the order, a statement read such as ' .....this purchase represents personal use only...'

    Any suggestions??

But were you actually buying it for business use or personal use? :P you've never actually stated one way or the other, actually danced around being asked a few times :D

Then why use the Business card and deliver to a business address? How are Dell to know that it is not a business transaction?

For starters they would not know it was purchased on a business card, and for the second point they do not specify that it has to be delivered to a home address - many people have items delivered to them at work as it is easier to receive items that way.

Quite apart from the fact that the OP ticked a box on the order clearly stating it was for personal use.

Hi , My details were all saved in my dell account from the last time I ordered. I did actually purchase a desktop from their business website last year for business use and I had my address details saved, and as it was a dell outlet purchase, I only had about 15 minutes to pay due to the high demand of these products. (if I didnt pay quickly then it would go away from the shopping cart and I was desperate as deal was stunning). I only used business card since I had not enough funds in my other accounts. Hope that clarifies it.

Have you tried calling your local CAB for advice on how you can dispute that it was a business transaction?

I havent gone that far yet. I have phoned my debit card services and they said they could put a dispute in for me. The debit card advisor was very helpful and he did say he see's a lot of people using their business accounts to buy products for personal use and that doesnt mean that everything that you buy from business accounts are for business use.

Hi, I havent gone that far yet. But I have spoken to my debit card services and they said they will put a dispute in for me. The advisor was very helpful and he did mention that a lot of people use their business cards for personal use , but as long as you dont claim on your business expenses.

Any way, my main issue wasnt the refund actually I wanted a different laptop and stupidly purchased another one from them thinking they would cancel my first order due to the Distance selling regulations / consumer protection etc. Now it looks like I will end up with TWO!

I have recieved another email from dell order verification to verify whether I actually ordered two and Im not sure how to reply to get away with it. This is the email:
    Dear Customer,

" This is a communication from the Dell Order Verification Team.
Please reply from your work/university email as a part of our validation.

Please verify if you have placed 2 orders with us
    "

My business card has my name and also my company name. It wouldn't surprise me if the credit card number might also indicate that it is a business card.
