    Seriously EE is now owned by BT, this is only the start of further price increases.

    The price rise to 21p per call and to 13.5p per minute for out-of-allowance calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers should be irrelevant for almost everyone. Those who have chosen the correct inclusive call plan for their needs will never pay these rates.

    Can they increase paid up front contracts?

    I started an 18 month BB and phone line with them via MSE as of 06th September 2017 as per the following:-


    You've signed up to our Broadband and Weekend Calls for 18 months which gives you:

    Your new plan Broadband and Weekend Calls £ 10.00 per Month.

    Your line rental £18.50 a month.

    Broadband connection charge £25.00 One-off Charge

    Line rental saver - 18 months £299.00 One-off Charge

    Postage and packing £7.00 One-off Charge

    Bright Box wireless router £0.00 One-off Charge

    Contract Term: 18 Months

    Caller Display £0.00 per Month.

    Line rental saver - 18 months £-18.50 discount for 18 months.

    I have received the "increase" letter from EE.
    I have a legacy plan from Orange which is being migrated to EE.
    So for Broadband & Anytime Calls (01/02/03 numbers) and line rental I currently pay £27.25/month. This will increase in January 2018 by £2.25.
    As a softener they are offering 5GB of data free if I have a EE pay monthly mobile plan and free Apple Music for 6 months again if I have an EE pay monthly mobile plan.
    Forgetting these extras, I feel at £29.50 its still a good deal.
    Currently the broadband speed in my area of Norfolk is 2mbps.

    I just phoned up to try and get line rental saver and was told they no longer do it.

    I see derrick up there^ got it as a new customer :(

    Yes I did, forget to mention in that post, I received a £125.00 prepaid MasterCard, making the 18 month contract only £10.00 per month.

    I’ve just had my letter informing me that my Broadband is going up by £2 per month. However, I am a legacy Orange customer (the infamous free-broadband-for-life saga) and my plan is “free broadband with pay-as-you-go Home Phone”. The letter is definitely referring to my Broadband increasing, not my phone line rental. Where to I stand on this? Surely they cannot start charging £2 for “free” Broadband...

    Due to painfully slow rural broadband speeds I actually have an independent provider for my Broadband and only use the EE line as a back up and the landline for emergencies (poor signal area too!) so although £2 doesn’t sound like much, it will end up being over £20 per month for a service I no longer use. They already put the price of the line rental up £4.50 a year ago so the “free” aspect is already looking less and less appealing, particularly with BT now offering a reduction for phone line only from next year.
