Its a good idea, but it gives providers another excuse to put the price up.

Didn't you know that's what Ofcom is all about. Put a wall in the way and the providers find away around it.

You only have you look at the mobile providers to see that.

As for phone line being sorted out in 2 days, it will be interesting how Openreach step up to that

  • I've been left without broadband despite keeping the service type the same but just changing providers (Plusnet Fibre to Vodafone Fibre).

On switchover day, (OpenReach bast@@@s I assume) manage to disconnect me from Plusnet but not "finish" reconnecting me to Vodafone. I've been told I'll get an update which is two weeks from switchover day. Not that it will be fixed then - just an update.

I'm now having to pay my existing mobile phone provider quite a lot extra to get more data. Vodafone "kindly" offered me 50GB of data but for that I needed to sign up for a pay monthly contract I don't need AND to add insult they also said they don't approve new contracts to customers who have just started any contract with them. I'vbe obviously just made the mistake of starting a new brodaband contract so even if I wanted to sign up for their mobile phone sim contract to get the 50GB they wouldn't allow it under their rules!

A question I have is, if it came to it, could I sue for the direct cost incurred to me of paying for additional mobile data on my phone which is the cheapest I could see of maintaining some kind of service (but no video of course)? I can't see how such a cost could be considered consequential.

Sue yes you can basically sue anybody but who are you going to take action against ??
Vodafone are the provider so all claims would be against them .You should ask them for compensation .
