Great article Callum, thanks for the good news. We have been trying for about 2 years with Emirates on the missed connecting flight issue. Our delay was from Newcastle but arrival to Dubai and outside of EU affected. Do you know timescales for the appeal? My hubby is concerned that after Brexit is finalised then the non-EU carriers will have a means to not apply the EU rules. We recently resubmitted our original claim to them and received the following reply:

Emirates takes all customer complaints involving flight delays very seriously.
We note the Court of Appeal’s ruling in relation to the application of EC261 on our flights from the UK involving a stopover in Dubai, we are currently awaiting to hear from the Supreme Court who we have asked to look into this matter further. Once this has been finalised, depending upon that outcome, you can resend your claim for further review.
