Sky are not 'launching their own mobile network'. They are becoming a mobile provider using one of the four existing mobile networks.
The pricing details, so far, are sketchy. For a full evaluation, other details will be needed. These include:
- whether calls and texts to numbers allocated in CI and IoM are included in allowances or not, and if not what the rates are
- the cost of calling personal numbers starting 070
- the Access Charge for calling service numbers starting 084, 087, 09 and 118, and
- the cost of "one standard rate message" for a text message sent to a mobile shortcode.
Various Ofcom and CAP/ASA rules require those headline rates to be prominently declared.0 -
Which network are they using.
Plans start at £10 so I lost interest straight away.0 -
For Sky customers they are more expensive than Virgin are for non customers... It's not likely to cause ruffled feathers in the mobile networks.0
-
If all your family and friends have whatsApp you can make calls on the data package , or for free on WiFi.0

They'll due their usual with cashback, half price offers and the like.
Much the same as BT offer for their BB customers.
That said, if clueless OFCOM had let them become a part owner in the O2/3 merger then 3, Tesco and Sky would have given BT/EE a run for their money...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Posted this a few days ago, pretty poor offering from Sky rubbish data allowance for the price and that's for Sky customers. None Sky customers lowest price £20 with ult mins, text and 1gb of data plenty of better options out there0

I was waiting for this and signed up to register my interest. They can keep it.
I'm actually surprised they think this is any good :rotfl:0 -
Ouch! Expensive.
£25 a month for 3GB + unlimited mins/txts - I'll stick with Vodafone thanks (£8.50 for the same but with 5GB)0
