    From the article:
What if retailers and traders don't follow the rules?

In some circumstances you may be able to take your case to the Consumer Ombudsman if you've not had any luck with the firm itself. But ultimately, the only other way to enforce your rights is to take your gripe to court.
Is it worth including a few words here about Section 75 and Chargeback?

Does MSE have some link with the Consumer Ombudsman? I can't work out why else they would keep promoting this toothless, non regulatory business.

What do these changes mean for the old 'up to' 6 years time limit for repairs etc. under the Sale of Goods Act?

You still have "upto" 6 years to claim in court if a product hasn't lasted a reasonable length of time.

The 6 years time limit doesn't come from SoGA, it comes from the limitations act (which is unaffected by the consumer rights act).

Because now instead of 28 days, they have to do 30 days?

I suspect a lot of retailers, Currys included, will be unhappy with:
If that repair or replacement doesn't help, you can now ask for a refund after just one attempt.

I expect Currys will continue referring people to the manufacturer, just as they do now.

According to their website, its 21 days.

However, they'll no longer be able to present it as an "offer" of theirs - since that is a practice that is specifically prohibited.

Of course it doesn't apply to change of mind returns but their policy would have to make that clear (so as to not mislead).
