    Depends upon location and signal .
    The Cloud is probably the better overall .

    Is it worth highlighting this? With the HSBC Premier credit card you can get free membership of Boingo, which means you can use BT hotspots and others for free. Might be a better solution than others like O2 and The Cloud where you have to sign up for marketing, and there are way more hotspots.

    I get free wifi through Fon. I notice that isn't in the guide.

    You are lucky. My fon device was bricked by an automatic firmware update. Then they kicked off all the users of old devices anyway.

    They now have stopped selling the devices all together I think.

    So I'm not sure there would be much use adding it to the guide.

    I would welcome to be proved wrong but short of trying to find a second hand device on ebay I don't think there is any free easy way to join fon any more.
