Wow, I thought my salary wasn't bad for my area but according to that, I earn less than other FT females.

Less :-( ...but then I'd guessed that already. The people in my road don't seem to do much work (certainly not full time), but can afford to live there while I am only spending on the basics and have no spare cash, so I realised I've been conned a long time ago.

For some reason I can only see the headings on the page, but these suggest that it is showing the MEDIAN earnings, rather than the AVERAGE, which is not the same thing

I wonder where they get these averages from. I'm on Jsa so i know i get less but other people i know are mostly below the average.

Well I'm pleased to say I'm above average for area, although my and OH combined income is below (which just shows how poorly paid OH is)

I'm less, but I'm not actually that much less and I'm quite shocked really. We by no means live well, but the people around us seem to have nice cars (yes definitely finance) and nice houses whereas we live in a run down place with 14yr old vehicles.

Average can refer to mean, median or mode ;)
