Prices going up again, anyone noticed the goverment never seem to query like they do gas?
After all water forces people on new propertys onto water metersDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
If only wages kept up with these privatised leechesBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

After all water forces people on new propertys onto water meters
That is because it is the Government controlled Regulator(Ofwat) that authorizes any price increase.
For the last 24 years(01/04/1990) new properties have been required to have water meters fitted.
It is about time that all properties should be made to have meters.0 -
Thames Water 2013-14 Metered Price
Water 128.43p
Waste 70.41p
= 199.84p per 1,000 litres
Fixed (Standing) Charge
Water £28
Waste £56
= £84 a year
£754 a year unmetered, so I was forced to get a meter last year. Waiting to see what the first metered bill says.
Assuming £2 per week per person, that's £100 a year.
I need to have seven people living in this house full-time to justify paying unmetered £754.0 -
anyone else not really surprised or phased by a 2% increase?
it's in-line with inflation (or better actually) and I don't know about the rest of you but my salary goes up each year by at least 3%. A 10% increase now that would be something worth writing about.Be kind to all moneysavers0 -
2% is the average across England and Wales. What your costs increase by depends upon who supplies you and what is supplied.
This is just another fluff piece from the water suppliers which this site puts out without any work to help us (the site's readers) work out the true cost to us.
Note there are no links to help you find your suppliers increase. My supplier has not updated their website with the new prices for April 2014 onwards.0 -

I forecast that the bill here will decrease.
A meter was installed almost 2 years ago, which dropped the annual cost from about £700 to about £240 then £225
Very shortly, the downstairs toilet will be filled using rainwater most of the time, especially at the moment. This will cost £15 to £20 in parts and save perhaps that much or slightly more per year.0 -
We know what our new charges are for this year, as Anglian Water have put them on their website.
Our bill for the year (unmetered) has gone up between 3.85 and 3.86%.

Anglian Waters SoLow tariff has gone up from 427.56p/m3 to 440.86p/m3, about 3.1% so still more than the articles headline rate
(SoLow no standing charge, useful for up to 75m3 usage/year)0
