MyTravelCash Card? Any Good?

My little brother is going on his first holiday with his friends now he's 18 to Magaluf on June 10th. I've been looking around as his mother is giving him £300 and i planned on giving him £100 which will total £400 to spend for the 7 days that he is there. We don't want to give him too much as we know 10 lads in total are going and it's only going to be spent on alcohol mainly!!
I was thinking about getting him the mytravelcash card as it has the 1% cashback if he uses it direct for a transaction and the no atm fees..I did notice the currency rate was a bit lower for exchange but for the cashback I thought perhaps it will be worth it.
I did a search and in 2012 someone on here said that they had problems when using the card, i.e.: it had money on but got declined.
I just wondered if anyone had experience this year with the card and more over in Magaluf as I know apparently the ATM fees are only free at 'mastercard displayed' ATMS. If it's not a good currency card which is better? Let me know thanks

They take a 2.99% exchange rate markup and give you 1% back! Not really a good deal, for pre-paid look at Kalixa, see the "Cheap travel money" thread where we've just discussed this.0
