    Can anyone tell me whether a child who started a CTF in 2006 will still get the top up at their 7th birthday? It's all a bit confusing as this product is no longer offered and I don't know whether this means there will be no further payments to the existing fund holders.

    No, they won't.

    Any top-up payments stopped in August 2010.

    This consultation (if it really is happening) seems to be going very slowly; I've heard nothing at all. Meantime, an e-petition has been raised on the direct gov website that could do with a few more signatures.

    Seems quite well worded (certainly compared to some of the loony rants!) and I thought worthy of support.

    (Note: It is petition number 45469 on epetitions.direct.gov.uk but this lame forum software seems to want to make it difficult for me to post the link! :undecided )
