Hotmail problem - not receiving any emails
I have not received any emails to my Hotmail account since Wednesday. None. Not even one going in my Junk email folder.
I have sent email from my other accounts and have not received any delivery failure message - they just never appear.
I can successfully send emails from my Hotmail account, but I can't receive any, which is very frustrating as I have no way of knowing if someone has emailed me and if I have missed something!
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how was it solved?
How/who can I contact at Hotmail to help me with this!
Thanks

Thank you so much for replying!
What happens after I click on "can't access your account"?
Is this problem now resolved for you?

When you click that it asks you to reset your password.
Resolved for me after reset.

Thank you for replying. I was too scared to click the "can't access your account" link without knowing what happened for fear of locking myself out altogether.
So if I reset my password (and on my mobile devices too) it should all be OK. That's good to know - I will give it a go and report back.

I have reset my password, logged out, logged in, logged out again, logged in again, but still no emails coming through.
I'm starting to feel a little desperate. I've had this account for years and its my primary email account and now out of the blue, its just stopped working!
There doesn't seem to be anyway of accessing technical support from Hotmail for this this either - I guess that they are busy with their new Outlook.com service and maybe old Hotmail accounts are just be left if there is a problem and it is not being fixed.
Can anyone please help?

Now working again! Hooray!
But none of the test emails that I sent the last few days have arrived; its as if they are lost for ever in the internet ether....floating in cyber space.
But I have really lost my confidence in Hotmail, which is a shame really.

It is very likely your e-mails will turn up.
Eventually (typically after a few days) e-mails are returned undeliverable if they can't be delivered but when there are problems it can take hours or days for them to get through.

My husband is having the same problem with hotmail - we've had nothing come in for 2 days but emails are being sent. We need his account to be working as he's looking for jobs so we need to know if potential employers are replying. I've tried puttinng a question on the hotmail forum but there says there's a problem with that. I've looked for a help or contact hotmail but can't find anything. I've reset his password as 2010 suggests but that hasn't worked. HELP clever peeps!

Sorry to bump this up guys, but his hotmail is still not working and we're getting concerned now. Emails I've sent to it are saying they're going to be delayed - will it just start working again?

Open a Gmail account instead, much more reliable.

Still nothing and the last email I tried sending said that there was a server problem on the destination email so sounds like a hotmail server problem to me but mine are working fine and he can send - strange???

Note - as a new user it seems I am not allowed to post links so ive done my best to make the web links readable.
Recently I have seen problems with other peoples hotmail and although I don't exactly know exactly know the cause, I suspect its something to do with the new Outlook.com.
I have recently switched over from Hotmail to Outlook.com.
My <firstname><lastname>@hotmail.com address still works and I also now have <firstname><lastname>@outlook.com as an 'alias' - I might not use it very often but at least nobody else can use it.
If you log on to hotmail and send yourself an email then does it arrive?
how about if you go to <www . outlook . com> , enter your hotmail credentials and then send yourself an email - does that work/not work?
Using the new 'outlook' interface for hotmail is, for me, a massive improvement and it seems much quicker.
Here is a link to the microsoft help file for how to do it. As far as I can remember when I converted to outlook.com there was an option what said 'switch back to hotmail' for a couple of months (I tried it and it did indeed switch everything back) but now that option has gone from my account.

Thanks Ant555 for your reply.
He's able to send emails to other addresses (ie my work email) but not to himself - so this suggests it's a receiving problem linked to his account.
I've managed to get the Microsoft Community forum to have a look at it so they're going to look at problems their end - whether they come up with anything is another thing altogether.
Are you suggesting we convert to outlook and see if the old emails come through??? I love outlook - we use it in work, but we've just hesitated making the switch in hotmail.

I would definitely try converting to Outlook - Although its probably not exactly the same as the outlook you have at work.
Ignoring any possible name changes or additional aliases you can 'convert' your hotmail account, and all that seems to happen is you get the clean looking modern interface. I am sure something technology related happens in the background but for me the update was painless. Your address stays the same, your contacts, calendar, any SkyDrive files all stay.
When I originally changed to 'Outlook', a couple of times I switched back to Hotmail just to see if I could - I could switch back to hotmail but it looked so dated that I soon decided to stay on the new outlook platform (or whatever its called)
Friends of mine were over from Australia recently and they couldn't send or receive using their hotmail accounts so couldn't keep in touch with friends. All I did was put their existing hotrmail name and password into outlook.com and they could immediately send and receive.
Ok, this doesn't sound exactly like your issue but it may be related.
You say that you can send to other addresses but not your hotmail - is this from hotmail itself? ie - log into hotmail and send yourself a message - does it come through?
Your messages aren't, for some unexplained reason, going into the 'junk' folder are they?
