Ooh chickpeas are great, I love them!

You can whiz them up with tahini, lemon juice, garlic & oil to make your own hummous.

They're also great just thrown in a cold pasta salad, with anything else you want to add (peppers, tomatoes, onions etc)

You can also pop them in a pitta bread, again with whatever takes your fancy (lettuce, onion, mayo etc)

One of my favourite recipes is Chick-pea sauce & Rigatoni:

2 cans chick-peas rinsed and drained
    8 fl oz vegetable stock
    1 tlsp olive oil
    8 oz onions, thinly sliced
    4 tsp crushed garlic
    1 lb can chopped tomatoes
    1 tsp crushed rosemary
    half oz chopped parsley
    salt & pepper to taste
500g/1 lb cooked pasta eg shapes

1.In a food processor or blender puree half the chick-peas with 125ml/4 fl oz of the veg stock, set aside.
2.Heat the oil in a large saucepan, saute the onions and garlic until lightly browned, about 5 mins.
3.Add the tomatoes, rosemary, chick-peas, chick-pea puree and remaining veg stock. Cook, stirring well, for 15 minutes or until the whole chick-peas are soft.
    4. Add the parsley, salt & pepper. Serve over your cooked pasta shapes.

My 2 children absolutely love this.

......drain them well, season them with herbs, spices, curry powder, whatever you like, spritz them with oil then put them into a hot oven till crisp.

open a bottle of wine and pass the snacks around ;)
