cheap digital thermometer

in It's gone, but was it any good?
a few months ago there was a mad rush to tescos to try and get the braun digital thermometer that had been reduced, I was one of the lucky ones who got one but i know there were loads who didnt get them. so for those people i say look at the lloyds pharmacy christmas book, they have a calpol digital thermometer reduced from £39.99 down to £9.99 , but its only exclusive to a lloyds pharmacy

    cheers for that i tried to get one also from tesco but no joy, i dont know where this is a lloyds pharmacy i live in the north east

    next time your out look at your local chemists ,,, might be they a lloyds and you hadnt noticed.... also if you click on the link in the previous post you can use the pharmacy locator see if there is one near you...

    can i just add that my local 99p shop in eastgate basildon had digital thermometers in there on thursday for just 99p including batteries

    I've got one of these, I work for Lloyds so got a staff discount as well. They are really good. Apparently digital thermometers were reviewed in a national paper this week and this particular one scored 10 out of 10.

    Barjam Lloyds are a big company ( I was told a couple of years ago that they are a bigger chain than boots, don't know if this is still true though), I'm sure there will be one close by to you

    I got one today and it works nicely. It even reads out your temperature. The whole family can use it. All for £9.99 including AAA batteries.

    Hopefully I won't need it too much this winter! :o

    My sister's friend is a nurse and they have been told that these digital thermometer's are going to be taken off the market very soon and are not recommended. Apparently people aren't cleaning them properly and children are getting more ear infections than ever before because of this.

    I wonder if this is why they are all being reduced quite a bit :-/.

    with the braun one as im sure the calpol one you throw away the attachment that goes into the ear everytime you use it.. with the braun you get loads of attachments and you can buy extras.. so really there should be no cross contamination if you use them properly.... my dad was in hospital recently and everytime they took his temp they used a digital thermometer because its quicker and less stressful
