Does anyone know of any good noise cancelling earphones other than Bose?
I lost my Bose ones which are £275 to replace and I can't claim them back on insurance.
I'm sure someone must have come up with earphones using the same type of technology by now but I would like a reccommendation if possible
Many thanks

Were the Bose ones the in-ear type?
If you get on with that style, the Sony ones like the MDRNC11 work quite well, and at around £30, not such a disaster if you lose them. I've used that type extensively on trains and planes and they are very good at keeping out external noise.
The Sony open-backed noise cancelling ones are by all accounts very poor, though I've never actually tried any of those.0 -
I would prefer the 'over ear' type if possibleFiliss0

I used the Sennheisers for some time before getting the Bose (version 3). If you've had the bose ones, you'll find the Sennheisers aren't bad but nowhere near as good as the ones from Bose.....
The Bose outlet at Bicester Village has reconditioned units at around £200 if you ask.0 -
I've demo'd the Bose headphones and yes, they're good but not for that price. Bose make substandard audio equipment IMHO. There is far better gear around for a lot less money. Do you really need noise cancelling? Why not simply go for some decent over ear headphones? Most of the noise is cut out by the fact your ears are covered by the headphone anyway. NC just adds mush to the sound. A friend who is a DJ who obviously wears cans a lot told me that and he's right.0

Creative labs do a pair. http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=3T9L
I have a pair, to be honest they do works but not as well as I hoped. Not that great for tube travel or really noisy environments. Quite good for home use tough
On the other side they are £25 and you wont be writing "I lost my Bose ones which are £275"GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -
Bookduck, thanks for your suggestion and also to everyone else.
At £25 I don't think I am risking a lot!I'll give them a go and post my reply in due coursre
Thanks again

Bookducks, I ordered the creative headphones, and received them this morning, excellent service.
They are a little heavy, but generally they seem excellent value for money.
Thanks very much!
