Anyone ever bought plants from ebay?

Hi there,
I'm busy stocking up my empty garden and would like to get a wisteria. We don't have any garden centres near by and we don't drive. I've taken advantage of offers from magazines for plants, and was wondering if ebay were any good. I don't want to spend a fortune as I believe they can be a challenge to get established. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

not sure about wisteria but I have bought rhubarb(Timperley early) and an apple tree off ebay from different sellers and both came well wrapped and are now well established - Therefore I personally would buy from ebay again

    good Luck:beer:

I've bought some honeysuckle shrubs that were excellent quality, as well as other small shrubs.

I've also bought bedding plants, that were just as good as the likes of Thompson and Morgan etc., but much cheaper.

Check out the sellers feedback and if the have lots of good comments, they should be ok.
Here I go again on my own....

I've bought most of my plants from eBay, all very good apart from one (reminds me, must chase that!)
Check the seller's feedback if you're not sure...actually read the comments though as some can actually be negs but given a 'positive' to fool the seller.
    Good luck!

Bought a white wisteria from ebay about 3 months ago - parkhall garden centre (based near St Ives in Cambridgeshire), it came well packaged and is now shooting really well. Very pleased. Used to live very close to this nursery around 7 years ago so knew its plants were good. Now live 120 miles away and we were very pleased with delivered item.

It is worth doing a postcode search on ebay - I did this last year and found a chap near me selling lovely plants. I bought a couple on ebay, went round to pick them up and came back with a car full!!!

Last week I bought from Pamb42 on ebay.

I chose them due to the range and variety of plants offered, as OP my garden was looking a little sad, so I have revamped it and it was in need of some colour.

I have to say their customer service is fantastic. Parcel went missing in the post (not their fault,) and some of the plants had unfortunatly withered and died (10 days for first class signed, come on RM!?!?). They had already offered to replace everything, and claim through RM, however they did turn up. But as it was a company, swanley village plants, they have offered to replace the plants that have died. I feel it would have been different had it been a private seller with limited stock.

Unfortunatley, with the parcel going missing I bought some replacements myself, I could not wait. I explained this to them and asked if the dead plants could be replaced with something else. the wonderful people there have said yes.

Due to this brilliant customer service I am a returning customer already buying 10 herb plants from a very wide and varied selection for 5.99, I have not seen these prices anywhere.

to top it off many of their plants are buy it now or make an offer, so I got most of my plants through the make an offer! and they combine postage to a max of 10 pounds

As usual, I have to stress that I have nothing to do with this company (it is based in kent, I live in Oldham), I am just a very happy customer, thoroughly recommend trying them.

I've bought herbaceous perennials from ebay, private sellers and garden centres and all came well packed and still growing well in the garden.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy again, they all came well packed and no damage at all.

Dont think sellers are allowed to leave neg feedback in return now, so it should make things easier now
