The Linux...come of age! thread got me thinking...how many MSE's use some distro of Linux compared to Windows or a Mac...or is it just me?
To get started I have been using Ubuntu for nearly two years now. Think I may boot into XP once a month or so.
I have tried to cater for as many options as I can think off the top of my head!

Used Elive for nearly 2 years, rarely touch windows at all now. Did Ubuntu, Suse, Fedora, Mandriva etc. but any debian based distro with enlightenment desktop works for me.“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0

Used Ubuntu on the way to an XP install after a disastrous experience with Vista Ultimate. Steep learning curve but hooked eventually.
Now using Mandriva ... it just works.
Windows users ... there is a choice ... give Linux a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.0 -
well, i have a couple of nokia internet tablets that are linux. i would like to understand a bit more about ubuntu and the many other linuxs out there, but were do you start? i mean windows, you install it and it updates itself but linux its seems to keep changing all the time, a bit confusing. must admit tho' have seen some stuff on youtube and its very impressive, the stuff you can do with various linux apps!0

Changed thread title...maybe the word Linux in the title is putting off windows users - the results have certainly been a surprise so far (although it is a very small sample!)0

Should be an option to choose multiple Operating Systems, as I use Ubuntu, XP and Vista on different machines.0

I've voted for Vista as I'm very happy with it compared to all the previous versions of windows that I've used, we have 4 other pc's here, 3 of them running XP and a spare system that I've recently installed PCLOS on (Linux). I've tried Linux in the past but lost interest fairly rapidly.
In my view the Linux editions that I've tried just aren't as easy to use compared to windows although I'm sure that'll change, I think you need a good memory to be confident with Linux.http://fosswire.com/2008/04/22/ubuntu-cheat-sheet/

I was using a Linux box until it decided it had had enough of life.
Now using a new laptop with Vista. It's not as bad as I feared (or had heard). Once I'm fairly certain that there are drivers under Linux to support everything I need on it, then I may well dump Vista (or at least dual boot).Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Ubuntu, XP, Mac OSX, BSD in roughly that order.0

Use Vista on all 3 computers on the network since Feb 2007, had absolutely no problems and for me the best O/S that MS has produced.Cheers
