I have a mix of Crohn and UC, doctors can't seem to be able to make up their minds on that one! Needless to say this would be the perfect juicer ;)

Hi Angel i have tried that and it never worked for me:(

The first does i started last November and had to go in for a couple of days as they need to keep an eye on you.Needless to say nothing untoward happened and i went home.I then had the next one in the day unit 2 weeks later, another 4 weeks after that but it wasn't working and i wanted to stop and my consultant was going to stop it anyway so now he needs to find something else:rolleyes:

Infact while on it i have never felt worse:o
I lost all appetite for some foods i liked before.

Hi Darren, This is a last resort for me, I've suffered on and off for over 20 years now and if it doesn't work I'll have to have surgery. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you.

Thanks. Not had it as long as you only since 1995 for me when i was 21.I've probably not had/got it as bad either as they have never mentioned surgery and i don't think that would be needed.I don't really take much notice of what to eat etc either;)
Saying that though the only thing that has worked for me really is steriods which as you probably know they don't like you taking as they thin the bones.I wish they'd told me that years ago as they say i have this now on the hips and lower spine(i think). They never told me i don't know why:/

Again though unless it changes when i'm older i wouldn't know that i'd had thin bones as it doesn't make any difference etc

I was diagnosed with Crohn in 2004, I was put on Salofalk (drug name: Mesalazine) and then changed to the same drug but from another Pharmaceutical Laboratory (Celsius) named Mesacron, this was when i was back home in Uruguay. Once I moved to Scotland (my husband is scottish) I've been taking Pentasa which seems ok but not as good as the others I was on. For what I know Salofalk is the original one and the best one (and most expensive as well). Not sure they sell it over here, I've been meaning to ask my doctor here but I always forget! I don't think I have it as bad as other people but what I'm wanting to do is quit all the meds and just take homeotherapy but I'm a bit scared... :o
