hey guys, am looking for a second mobile to use alongside my contract nokia 6230, only got a few requirements:
1. takes sim cards for any uk network
2. reasonably modern (new if possible)
3. cheap (under £30 if possible)
i'm just looking for something i can throw a t-mobile contract or any pay as you go sim into, i have seen some for £25-£30 at asda but i don't know if they are unlocked. would consider a reconditioned or 14 day phone if anyone knows a good site (i used to but thats going back years)

Hi,
You'll probably get more replies to your thread on the mobile phones board, so I hope that you don't mind if I move it over there.

Check ebay, most ebayers unlock phones beofre selling as they know they'll get a higher price. Or just look at Tesco/Carphone Warehouse etc for cheap phones you like and then search in Google the name of the phone model and the words "unlock" and "free" to see what comes up.
In general, Nokias are easiest to unlock.
BTW, phones purchased new rarely come unlocked, but some, such as Nokias can be unlocked free using codes found on the internet - see the Nokia Unlock codes thread:

Check out Virgin, 02 and Vodo for reconditioned phones and go for a Nokia so you can unlock easily

You can post the info (as required) in this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=62874 and then the code will be given to you. It will be free
