Anyone picked up 13.5k in the street?

Having opened Lloyds TSB's Fixed Rate ISA via transfers of previous and currrent years' (2007/8) funds from Icesave and Alliance & Leicester in March, I received letters from both Icesave and A & L to say that they had closed my accounts with them and forwarded the proceeds to LTSB - I also received letters from LTSB acknowledging receipt of those funds & indicating that they had been credited to my account - all's well so far....................

The Icesave funds were shown on my LTSB internet banking web page immediately on receipt of their letter but the A & L funds were not.

Gave it a couple of days before popping into my local branch (at which I had opened the account), where my account notes were accessed via their intranet, which showed a note to the effect that the acknowledgement letter had been sent to me for the receipt of the A & L funds but then a cryptic addendum saying "ignore above note" - which confused both myself & the CS representative at the bramch.

The department which handles ISAs (based elsewhere in the UK) was contacted without any real resolution, other than a promise that I would be contacted later, either by the branch or ISA Dept., directly.

Today will be the third working day since my query and the only contact which I have had is a phone call from the reception clerk to say that the branch CS manager (who was engaged when I visited) will be making enquiries - this was only in response to my calling into the branch again to chase matters up.

So £13,500 plus of my cash is apparently lost somewhere in the ether at the moment and I'm less than happy, as you can probably imagine.

I made a small 'test' transfer as payment for this tax year (08/09) and it bounced back to the originating account today (after 7 days). From what another poster here suggested it looks like they locked out the accounts until the opening transfer completed. A second transfer was successful.

This may have something to do with the fact that they dropped their interest rates today.

Unlikely in my case, I suspect, as the opening transfer completed on 28th March.
