been down this road already. Dont have any old phones. have also asked friends and family. We passed our phones on to other people and this business has just come up.
  • Try Virgin, Vodo and 02 for reconditioned phones. I have had from all three and they are generally returns for whatever reason and have not been used.

You'll find a link in this thread for the student discount at 02.

I don't know about other sim cards apart from o2. (see post #2)

But which ever you choose make sure they don't have to be topped up each month to keep the sim active.

Generally to keep a PAYG simcard active nowadays all it takes is to make a call with it perhaps once every 6 months.

Not including the Three paygo tariff :-(

ASDA got the nokia handset for £24.94 and even got it on T-Mobile with 1 hour cross network calls and face massage for your better half :-)
  • 1. Buy a cheap reconditioned phone.

    2. Get a free o2 or virgin sim from one of there promotions, which has a little credit to start off with, but can still recieve incoming calls.

    Job done.
Its better to close your mouth and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt...:p
  • i've been looking around and the best ones i can see are something like a nokia 1100 or a siemens (don't know the model number) and they are both around the £20-30 mark.
stick in the sim provided, keep the free credit (it doesn't expire) and as long as the calls come in, then you should be ok.
check the small print you might have to make 1 call or send 1 text every 3 months or something (just send it to your other phone and all is good)
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)
