Kaupthing Edge: possible to credit account even from unliked accounts

Despite what was said on this forum, I called customer service today (spoke to someone after around 1 minute), it is possible to credit the kaupthing edge account from any other accounts, as long as they are in the name of the account holder.
FYI:
* I signed online for a new account on Friday 28/03
* received an email yesterday (Thursday) with the account number and sort code
* received today a letter with the temporary password. Unfortunately, not possible to log on the site due to a technical fault.
Conclusion: it takes around one week to get everything set up, and the telephone CS seems quite good and fast.

Here's a copy of a message their CS sent me following my enquiry regarding this matter:
Thank you for your enquiry regarding paying into your Kaupthing Edge account.
Under the terms and conditions of your account, this states your funds must be transferred into your account from the nominated linked account. If you would like to change your linked bank details, you can do this by forwarding a bank statement. This must show your full name, also the sort code and account number of the new details. Please write a covering letter to confirm you would like the information changed.
If there is anything else I can help with, please don''t hesitate to get back in touch.
Yours Sincerely
Customer Services

A transfer went out of my "linked" Halifax account on Monday night, 7 April, but has still not been credited to my Kaupthing account. I thought it took only 3 days max.
What have other savers found please?0 -
When I transferred some funds they appeared on 4th day,but the credit for day before.Lately my credits are showing on 3rd day from transfer.I think if you check tomorrow, your credit will show but hopefully received by today,s date. It,s always a little worrying when using a new account but I have had no problems with Kaupthing account so far.0

I transferred money on Monday morning, 7th, checked yesterday morning, 9th, at about 10am, and it wasn't in my Kaupthing account. However checked in the afternoon and it was there so Looks as though the update is after midday. With Icesave it updates at 9.00am.0 -
I transferred £10k from my Egg Savings account to my Kaupthing Edge account simply by using the sort code and account number they gave me in Kaupthing's 2nd email and it was credited on the 3rd day (Monday last week to Wednesday last week). The linked account has to be a current account (presumably so that a direct debit can be set up for money to flow both ways). What you can't do is to take money out of the Kaupthing Edge account to anywhere other than the linked current account.0

All of the transfers made from my linked bank account to Kaupthing have taken 4 working days.0 -
Looks like I am a bit of a mug, I believed what Kaupthing said in their terms and conditions that it was not possible to transfer money in except via a linked account.:( I transferred money from this account via my linked account when it seems that it is possible to transfer it direct.0

I've done my first large transfer this week and when I checked this morning at 7am my account had not been credited, however when I checked just after 5pm the account had been credited. In my circumstance I can confirm that the transfer was shown at the end on the 3rd working day.My farts hospitalize small children0 -
A transfer from my Halifax linked account made on Sunday 6 April was transferred out on 7 April (fair enough) and appeared in my Kaupthing account this morning dated 10 April - 3 days.
A second transfer made from Halifax on 8 April has not yet appeared but, from what another poster says, might appear later today.
What is interesting is that Kaupthing didn't bounce a payment in from a non-linked account. My missus did a transfer for me to try and get over a £15K Halifax limit and her money is showing in my Kaupthing account as well and didn't get "bounced". Interesting eh?
So far so good.
I just need Egg to add them to their banking institutions so I can see all my balances on one screen. If you are an Egg online user please please submit a suggestion that they add Kaupthing. The way to do this is to try and add your Kaupthing account, Egg says no but gives you the opportunity then to suggest they add them.0 -

I submitted the suggeston about 2 weeks ago and I suspect many others have too. Does Egg need the approval of Kaupthing to add it to Money Manager? On the face of it, the login process for Kaupthing is no more complicated that any other banks that they do allow you to access.0
