Hi everyone.
We would like to take DD & DS (6 & 8) to the O2 to see the Tutankhamen exhibition over the Easter hols.
Does anyone have any tips?
Not even sure where to safely buy tickets!
Any suggestions appreciated!!
Thanks

For those that don't know the Tutankhamun Exhibition is currently on at the o2 in London until August. There are more details on the Tutankhamun Exhibition website.
If you're travelling by train then it's possible to get money off the ticket price by going to daysoutguide.co.uk and printing out the voucher but check other replies in this discussion first for other discounts that may be available.

You will be lucky to get tickets TBH!!!
There is a link on the Kelloggs website and a code there to get some money off (But it could be just for a family ticket)?
Tips - it took longer to get there than we expected. It is crowded - not massively so, but still lots of people. I would recommend getting an audio tour each, in advance when you book tickets is easier.
There are loads of places to eat at the O2 - Nandos to Starbucks at the equivilant high street prices.0 -
If you can get in as early as possible as although there was a queue it was very manageable - also there are no toilets once you are in there so make sure you go before you enter the exhibition area.
I think it is well worth the visit.0 -
Do remember that the mask is not on display in the exhibition although it is often shown on the posters advertising it. !! The mask remains in the Cairo museum.0

If you buy the dvd there it is £25!!!!
If you go to play.com it is about £9 and free delivery.
When I took my DD we did not buy souvenirs there but went to the British museum the next day and got much more reasonably priced stuff.
We booked tickets online at Ticketmaster and collected them at the desk when we got to the O2 arena."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

There are plenty of loos within the Dome, but not in the actual exhibition space - I think thats what franklally meant!0

Numerous people complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the adverts showing the "death mask".
The complaints were not upheld because the mask shown in the advert is not the death mask, it is a tiny part from one of the small items that are on show in London. The ASA said, quite correctly, that it was never claimed to be the death mask.
Personally, I think the ad was deliberately misleading and it has conned a lot of people.
I was lucky enough to see the real thing in Cairo last November - amazing !0 -
I have a stamped thingy from caffe nero that gets one free child when buying a full priced adult ticket at the o2 bubble box office.
PM me your details and I'll post it to you. It's valid until 30/08/08
(I have no kids and nephew went with school)We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

The newsagents near starbucks near the exhibition space has cheaper souvenirs, the ones at the exhibition are very expensive, but they do have masks and hats that the little ones can put on and you can take a picture with your mobile. Your youngest might get bored, there is a lot to see.
If there is a concert event on in the evening then the restaurants get very busy in the late afternoon and there are long queues.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
It's very, very hot in the exhibition...soooo layers and take water.....:o0
