It's "that day" again !
MAIL day - as much as I disagree - I'll post - quoting my Saturday entry
DAILY MAIL
If I don't post it I know someone else will !
Given it is the 1st Saturday in the month, the Mail should contain the "infamous" Book Token - worth £4 this time around.
It's for "THE EDITOR'S WIFE" by CLARE CHAMBERS
However I TOTALLY disagree with its use (I'll use others BUT NOT THESE) in establishments that cannot claim the money back (eg Tesco, Asda) because they are not members of The Booksellers Association.
Where they can be used can be found here >> https://www.nationalbooktokens.co.uk
I'm sure this will fall on many deaf ears - but PLEASE "don't break the system" for a bit of short term gain when not using these may well ensure other coupon acceptance for many years to come

Friday's SUN - gives you that FRIDAY FEELING
A FREE CRUNCHIE - it's a coupon redemption worth 44p
AS PART OF THE SAME CAMPAIGN - but NOT a "newspaper" freebie - but still worth a mention for some members in certain cities .... MORE "free" snack size Crunchies and also FREE TAXI RIDES !
As part of the campaign, 70 Crunchie branded taxis will appear in four major UK cities; London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh, offering free snack size bars to passengers on Thursdays starting from the 14 February for three weeks.
Free taxi rides between 4pm and 8pm will also be available every Friday during the month of February starting on the eighth.
If anyone gets a free snack size on a Thursday ride OR better still a free taxi ride on a Friday - please report back ! Just nice to know that someone was successful!

Sorry Quoia, but must admit I use the DM book vouchers.
If it wasn't for Tescos policy re accepting coupons, I would shop there very little, as they certainly are not the cheapest supermarket.
I take the point about them not claiming back the money, if that is correct, but they chose to take other vouchers they cannot claim any money back from - such as the spend £40, save £5 for Sainsburys etc. In fact there have been many threads over the years re the fact that Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys often advertise that they will accept their rivals vouchers.
They clearly calculate that by offering this policy, they get shoppers and their money thru the door - presumably much like loss-leaders. So while they 'lose' out of £3.50 or £4 book voucher, they must calculate they make more out of us once they get us over the threshhold.
When I use DM vouchers I make sure I go thru a manned till, or that the supervisor has checked my voucher on the self-scan. More often than not I buy books anyway using the voucher, just not the one pictured
I don't think of myself as a criminal - just someone trying to keep family and home together as best I can. Wouldn't like to consider myself dishonest - but that is probably what most crooks think.
I don't take coupon acceptance as a right, I am just very grateful that some of my local stores are so good about accepting them. Every Little Helps
You may think therefore that I am sunk below reproach.....but I am kind to animals0 -
