found this quote from talk talk forum:

""TT line activation went live as of today for all TT customers who move house.

If a BT Openreach engineer is required to activate a line at the new property then TT will be charging £112.50 for this, payable as a one-off charge within the first three months of the new account going live.

How about new customers do they still require a BT Line first?

No Talk Talk and every other line rental service provider can set service up from start, they'll use an openreach engineer just like BT
  • They've changed their requirements clarifying what constitutes a "BT Line" but nothing about setting up new lines.
What do I need to join TalkTalk?

    Why am I not surprised?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
