BANK OF SCOTLAND ONE CARD 0% for 12 MONTHS ON PURCHASES & BALANCE TRANSFERS

Was in my local branch of Halifax/bank of scotland yesterday and picked up a flyer for the new BANK OF SCOTLAND ONE card.

It is 0% for purchases and balance transfers for 12 months.

It does charge up to 2% on a balance transfer fee, but still a not bad offer. The only thing I noticed is that its only offering 9 months on their website. The flyer is dated july 05 so maybe not fully advertised yet. There is a phone number, pm me if anybody needs it(as not sure if its ok to make it public).

THE NUMBER WAS IN SCOTTISH PRESS TODAY ALSO REF. NUMBER

It seems to have been added this morning:

and also available in Halifax flavour:

[Can you possibly get a BOS One Card if you already have a Halifax One Card - and vice versa?]

Thanks very much for this. I was just about to apply to the Abbey this morning as I need to swap a couple of balances mid August.

I just applied for this card and appear to have been accepted.

However, the limit they have given me is less than the balance I asked to transfer. I hope they review this and I can transfer the balance I need!

And it IS available to current BoS customers. I just phoned to apply and was accepted in 30 seconds. I'll retain my current credit limit and can use the 0% for 12 month bal. xfer.

In this instance NOT cancelling my original BoS credit card when I'd paid it off (using a bal. xfer to Barclaycard for 12 month 0%) was a good move - made the application for the new BoS ONE card really easy. Hooray, for once my apathy paid off.

further to the message that my application would be answered within 10 days, I got a reply next day to say I've been accepted. As a matter of interest, I telephoned to ask what credit limit I've been allocated, ( the phone number was on the letter) and customer Service told me that I should ring a freephone number which is NOT generally given out) I phoned them and (think) I got through to the same dept. I've made a note of the freephone number now, so I'll always use it. If I'm allowed to publish it on this site I will, or if not, I'll reply to pm. After all, why should we moneysavers pay for the phone call?

Quite right to use freephone. You should really always aim to use

You can get the freephone or local national number equivalent so you can use up any free minutes you have your mobile etc.

You can search by Bank of Scotland or you can insert teh phone number you have and it will list any equivalent numebrs you could call.

Sorry a few questions before I get on the blower ....
    • So they basically offered you this deal to an existing customer with existing credit limit?
    • Do you have a "one card" out of promotional periods or is it an old bank of scotand credt card?
    • Did they say anything about that come into the conversation and if so did they refer to their policy on this for all custoemrs.
    • Do they run another credit check on you as an existing customer?
    Thanks in advance...
