I've been hanging around for a while now, thought I'll take the plunge and join in. :j
As it's getting nicer can you think of any ideas for days out that are cheap(max of £15 for 2 adults and 2 kids,8 and 13).

If you want us to suggest attractions etc., we need to know roughly where you live and how far you can travel. Obviously a picnic anywhere is your best bet, using your £15 budget for travel costs.
Bit more info please?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Hi karene and welcome! :hello:
As you're a newbie, perhaps you don't know that there is a specific forum in here called "Days Out". Why not try there?

Meanwhile I'll try and think of some ideas...Operation Get in Shape

If you are in London, most of the major museums (Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert, British Museum) are free to enter. To get there, an adult Off-Peak Day Travelcard costs £6.00 for all zones and this entitles you to buy equivalent tickets for the kids at £1 each. Total cost for the four of you = £14.00. Take your own drinks and sandwiches, obviously!I'd suggest you start with the Science Museum as it's quite likely that the kids will find enough interesting things there to occupy the whole day. Should they begin to want a change, the V&A and Natural History Museum are just round the corner so you can simply move on!

picnic in the park
hire a tennis court in a council run facility
we have an open top bus tour here that you can get on and off when you like, drops you off at the FREE museums

one local gallery here has free art workshops, and others which cost and are in the holidays, where you can leave your kids
if you are a member of a community group you may find they do cheap trips to the seaside

use your money to get to a car boot sale, set up a stall and come home with more money than you went with;) flask of tea and sandwiches on white bread of course;)
and above all cherish your time with your children and have a lovely day.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

thank you for such a promising start :T
Regarding location we live on the norfolk/suffolk border. We already go for walks and trips to the seaside(both with picnics).
I didn't know about the other links for outings,so I will look there.
Thanks for info about the trains to museums, when is off peak??
We will look forward to hearing more suggestions

im from there originally! A day out in norwich is good, as is Ipswich.
east anglia is still in many respects an old style place - what about pick your own fruit or veg? visit the brewery in Bury, near the cathedral(free) and the abbey ruins (free too)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Is Norwich Castle Museum free to get into?
Are you far from Thetford? When I was younger I remember there being a really great adventure playground in the forest which we used to stop at on the way to visiting my grandparents - if it's still there I'm sure it could be a day out by itself.Operation Get in Shape

Abbey park is one of my fav haunts lately. I take a picnic, and the kids and I can spend a couple of hours there, playing in the park, feeding the ducks etc.
Christchurch Park in Ipswich.
Thetford Museum, and the walks around nuns bridges.
Norwich castle.
Don't forget that you can buy an anglian ranger ticket on the train for £9.00 per adult and £2.00 per child, whick allows you to travel all day in the anglia region.
bit more than your £15.00, but the kids usually enjoy the train ride ( well mine do anyway:D )
Bt the way hello and welcome:hello:0 -
great minds B-R:beer:0
