LOGITECH No light for Caps

Options
I bought this yesterday from Tesco. I know I could probably have got it cheaper elsewhere. The problem is there is no light to indicate that CAPS LOCK is on. I have always had this feature on a keyboard. Is there some way I can turn it on? Their website is not helpful so I have sent them an email. I have been typing for many years...not the greatest but, to me, this is a basic feature.

  • Well if there's no light how can you turn it on? If there should be a light but its not working it sounds faulty - return it.

What is it you've got? I've at this moment got two completely different Logitech keyboards (both expensive) on my desk, one has a caps lock indicator the other doesn't. So it really depends what product you've got.

On old keyboards lights for Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll lock were common but new keyboards especially wireless keyboards don't have them. It's basically an unnecessary feature as you usually know when Caps lock is on, however for speedy touch typists, it can be annoying not to notice that you have accidentally hit the Caps Lock key.

If you go into Accessibility Options in Control Panel, you can enable the Toggle Keys option to give different sounds when switching between Caps lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock. I don't miss the lights on my Logitech keyboard and prefer the sound warning.

Logitech were very quick coming back to me and gave a long list of things to do but today I noticed that the caps lock light is on the "Connect" device. The mouse is cordless you see. I feel a bit stupid - nothing new.

No need to. On one of my keyboards (the wireless one) I notice that it's the same, the caps lock indicator is on the wireless hub rather than the keyboard itself. I'd actually forgotten it was there.

erm surely speedy touch typists would notice very quickly by the fact that they are touch typing and therefore looking at the screen as they type?

Not necessarily as a touch typist does not need to look at the keyboard or the screen, while they are entering text from another document etc.

A warning tone is much more useful than any light, when actually typing as previous posted have proved by not even noticing where the light was located.

I did that Expresso but nothing has changed - no sounds are heard. It said to press Numbers Lock for a few seconds. I did that and clicked OK but it has not worked for me.
