Debenhams three day extravaganza starting Wednesday 21st November

What's this all about?

Debenhams is holding a sale which it calls a "pre Christmas extravaganza", both online and in-store, on Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd November. This offers up to 25% off all items instore (and usually includes discounts at some concessions) although electricals, cosmetics and perfumes will see only 10% knocked off their prices.

As stores will be open for longer than usual, double check with your local branch for its specific trading hours.

Why is this in the weekly e-mail? It's only a sale

The key is Debenhams is a department store and thus has a wide range of goods which are stocked elsewhere. While normally not that cheap, with 25% off it can make it the lowest price provider of a number of products.

Can bargains be had?

Obviously this event is a good reason to get started on or finish (if you're organised!) your Christmas shopping, but don't let the reductions blind you; go prepared with a list of things you want to buy and the maximum you'll pay for it having first checked what the cheapest prices are (use the Cheapest Online Shopping article) to find out. It's not a bargain if it's put in a cupboard and never used.

Maximise the moneysaving

If you've already got your eye on something in Debenhams and are happy to offset the risk of it not being in stock against the possible price reduction next week, wait until then to buy it.
