http://www.swinton.co.uk/home/home_emergency/

this is a complete home emergency cover. It comes out to be 59 pounds on website (per annum). Now the moneysaving bit, insert your postcode on the webpage and call their branch local to you . You will be able to get the cover for only 34 pounds per annum

The website says

Benefits
  • 24 hour emergency assistance
  • 24 hour non emergency advice and assistance
  • Access to hundreds of approved tradesmen in your area
  • Up to £750 in call out charges parts and labour
  • Up to £100 in accommodation charges
  • Guaranteed repairs
If that wasn't enough...
Swinton is so confident and proud of this product that we have included a FULL MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. If a tradesman does not arrive within 24 hours of the arranged appointment we will refund your premium AND continue the cover for the full 12 month period.

Now the catch.
You need to have your boiler service within one year every year.
If you have the above it works out cheaper than british gas / npower cover and covers more appliances as well i.e as the website goes ....

Heating system and hot water supply*
"Being left without heating in your home can be extremely uncomfortable. With Home Emergency cover, you'll have the peace of mind knowing that you are covered should this happen to you."
Toilet unit
"Trouble with your toilet is an inconvenience you could do without. With Home Emergency cover you can, as you'll be covered up to £750 in situations such as these."
Gas failure within the property
"Problems with your property's gas supply can be dangerous if not fixed correctly, that's why all the gas tradesmen used within this policy are CORGI registered."
Electricity failure within the property
"Being left without your electricity can be a frightening experience, but rest assured, if this happens to you, you'll have someone to turn to whatever the time."
Plumbing and drainage
"When accidents happen you need reliable tradesmen there quickly to prevent further damage to your property. Rest assured we'll get someone to you as soon as possible."

Thanks mate, called my local branch (wigston) and they actually said it is normally £69 so the internet price is cheaper anyway.

I then mentioned that a firend got it for cheaper around the £40 mark and she agreed to do it for £45. RESULT!!!

Signed up there and then. Seems like an excellent cover.

    Regards

I just got all my insurance documents today. It is I think a reasonable cover that covers most domestic emergencies. Beware the cancellation charge is 35 pounds ( but my policy is worth 34 pounds!!) and no wear and tear included. Apart from this it is a lovely policy to have as compared to the other ones in the market.

Its ok but if your boiler is a bit old go for a policy that has unlimited cover. My old policy had a £750 limit and last year I used it all up because Valiant were not capable of fixing their own boiler (so they needed several visits).

it sounds a good deal but they say that the boiler should be serviced by a qualified engineer annualy...i think if you add the cost of that to the cover you might be better with british gas as they include the annual service and their cover limits are higher

I am a Corgi registered Gas engineer, I cant count the number of people I visit who complain about Brutish Gass. If they cant be bothered to fix it, or are not clever enough, (more often than not) they simply say the parts are not available and cut you off. And thats if they turn up! Of course this is just my opinion and may bare no relation to the truth.

My experience of BG Home Care is on the whole good. We've got a 20 year old boiler that gets an annual service without too much bother. The engineers are rather a mixed bunch. Some are very helpful, others less so. Never had any of them downright rude or unhelpful though. Rather glad I had the cover though when my hot water cylinder started leaking earlier this year - took two of them over 4 hours to drain it all down and fit a new one.
Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.

Don't forget BG have homecare flexi now as an option too. You pay £50 per fault, but save £6 per month over their standard poilcies. You still get the annual service included.

Well i got a new boiler fitted say 1yr 9months ago i think, and just been to busy and working away to have it checked out as in service,i should have as its new and best keeping it checked up.
I had a couple of times from the makers asking if i wanted insurance to cover it.
Well it says my boiler comes with a two year guarantee which expires in a years time so if my was purchased on 27th jan then my two years will soon be up.
They are asking me for £114,would this be a good option for me using whats been posted on here,i do plan on moving house, going overseas next year or one after, should i bother or make sure its kept ok and free from trouble.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
