That's lovely. I'm so glad you posted that as I lost a friend last Friday and have been feeling very up and down about it. Literally five minutes before reading your thread I found a penny so it's bought a tear to my eye but also a smile. Thank you xx

I think that is a lovely poem and a lovely idea. You have a lot of courage and sensitivity; I think a lot of us forget that Christmas can sometimes be a difficult time. A family friend of ours lost his wife suddenly on Christmas Eve a couple of years ago (leaving three young boys all under 10). He sees Christmas very bravely as a time of celebration of life as well as of quiet reflection and remberance. I think this is entirely appropriate for the festive board :) cel x

    I agree. Very sensitive.

Its not all about holly and crackers and overspending.

Its about real people with real lives and problems which are always highlighted at this time of year.

(Just re-read it and realised it's very appropriate for an MSEer!)

Thats lovely and bought a tear to my eye. Fortunately I don't have anyone to send it to which I count my blessing for. xx

Its made me think too of others now who won't have such a lovely time.

It's true, people don't always want presents, they just want to be thought of and that lovely message would touch the heart of anyone.

What a thoughtful person you are and my condolences for the loss of your child, I can't even imagine how awful that must be xx

That is lovely I am sure it will be appreciated.

A friend of mine lost a child near christmas a couple of years ago I bought her a very discreet angel brooch- you can get them in most card shops right now.She wears it on whichever bag she is using. It is so hard I agonised for weeks before I gave her it and she said it brings her lots of comfort.

We often forget dont we when we are caught up with our plans that christmas can be a very isolating time for some people I hope your aunt and the rest of your family finds the strength to get through it with the comfort of each other.

Oh, that's a lovely post, thank you. Christmas can be a difficult time for many people, for different reasons and I hope on MSE we can reflect that as well.

The poem is lovely, thank you again MPxx

I think its lovely too - thinking of what to write in a Christmas card for example to someone who is recently bereaved can be very difficult, yu don;t want to bring them down by writing sombre words or be seen to ignore the bereavement but that would be a lovely verse to write to show you are thinking of them. Hope you won't be so nervous posting next time you have a good idea :T

Certainly entirely appropriate for the celebrations board :) I have no intentions whatso ever of moving it :)
And if you want to post the idea for a baby too I think that would be lovely...
