Sorting my life out diary!

Hi everyone!:j
I have decided to join writing a daily diary too as it really looks like it helps people on here. My situation isnt that bad im only 24 living at my home with the parents....but thats the problem! I want to buy my own place with my OH! But the problems are i have some small debts and i only work 25 hours a week! So this will be my ' I want to get out of debt and buy a house diary!'
So here's a break down of my debts
Car loan £2300(was £3600)
Credit card £500
Credit card £38.93
I would have only had the car loan left to pay but just booked a holiday for november which is where the £500 came from! .....well i need a little treat this year!
Its not bad i know but remember i only earn £520 a month! (my own fault i know)
My monthly outgoings without credit card payments
Car insurance £55
Mobile phone £35
Loan £116
Petrol £40
Total £241:rolleyes: not bad i know
Luckly my parents dont charge me rent or food.So my monthly outgoings arent much. I normally pay big chunks off my credit cards off each month not min payment as i save up as much as i can from my left over money each month.
I know your probably all thinking i dont need to do a debt diary but i do to help me get on track to stop spending my spare money on takeaways, clothes etc. And to start saving it and pay off my car loan and save for a house instead!
Luckly my OH is on a much better wage than me of £18,000 but he has debt too, that he says his sorting out quickly. He has a fantastic nan and grandad who gave him £10,000 for our depoist!:D But thats still not enuff to get us a flat / house.
OH wage £18,000
my wage £7000
equals NO mortage.
One bedroom flats around my area (chelmsford essex) are £124,000!
I dont like the sound of doing part buy part rent sounds more expensive than buying a house!
So this is my kick up the bum!
1. Get out of debt
2. Find a full time job!
3. Save money instead of spending on junk!
4. Buy a house!
At the moment i do online surveys, pigsback, quidco to get extra money any other ideas i would love to know!;)

Well, definitely the most obvious thing is getting a full time job
That would make a massive difference and enable you to clear your debts quickly and get saving for that house deposit
Is there any scope for going full time in your current job?
Or even getting another part-time job, bar work in the evenings or something? I used to be a barmaid years ago and I loved it, it was hard work yes, but lots of fun. AND while you're working you're not spending = bonus!!You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that
Proud to be BSC no. 1030 -
Have you tried a bit further out than chelmsford - a friend of mine is moving to Kelvedon and its cheaper there (apparantly).
Also can you take on another part time job to maximse income - I don't know what you do but I've seen some good jobs advertised on the 'this is essex' jobs website and also jobcentre website - I would go for them myself but the hours need to work around my childcare arrangements - if you need weblinks I can send them to you0 -
I cant go full time in the job that im doing now no. But this is often weekend overtime avaliable which i often turn down silly me! Because i only get to see my fiance at the weekend. But from now on i will do any overtime offered as my latest finishing time at work is 4pm so plently of time to see him in the evening!
Heres why i dont have a full time job, ive been in this same part time job for 3 years now. ive kind of got stuck in a rut! i dont have much confidence and am very shy so hate starting new jobs! thats what puts me off getting a new job i always think what if nobody likes me or talks to me?! and what if i dont like it then get left with no job.
silly i know but thats the way i think! because of my confidence problem!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Then a part time bar job would be perfect - keep your current job and I can tell you working in one of the busy bars/clubs in Chelmsford would build your confidence - I was like that before I worked in a nightclub - my ex killed all my confidence but working in the club really boosted it. Give it a go - you've nothing to lose0

Yes i do check out 'this is essex' site and the jobcentreplus site every other day. i did go to an interview a couple of weeks ago for boots photo lab, the job sounded quite interesting and full time with good money per hour.
So off i trotted to the interview, i knocked on the door and walked into this office full of young blokes my age i said i was here for an interview. They got the manager who turns round and says to me infront of all these blokes ' hello! jump up on that photo copier and give me a print out will ya! looking at my boobs! everyone in the office laughed which made me feel like telling him where to go. But i didnt i just nervously laughed and smiled. he offered me the job at the end of interview but im werent gona work there! If he could say that to me the first time he sees me god knows what he will be saying doing if i worked there!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Bar work isnt really me, thats a job where you do need confidence! I have thought of getting an evening clenaing job. but i had two jobs before and they tax higher with two jobs. But at least i would be getting a little more money.:think:Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

My OH and mum told me to report him to boots but im not going to work there. Then my dad says he was just mucking around but its not the sort of thing a manager should say on an interview. It was the first thing he said to me!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -

Hello DFW's
Have a good money day today. no spend again! I get my lunch free of charge at work so saves me pounds! Although the same all tuna sandwich with stale bread can get a bit boring!
And also received my £10 boots voucher from pigsback today wasnt sure if id get it because of the postal strikes! That can go towards someones xmas present!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750
