I wanna northern Ireland number plate BAZ prefix

It is my 30th birthday next month and the mrs is looking to be me a number plate with a BAZ prefix which is available in northern ireland. I cannot have one of the new style 02,52.03 plates as my car is too old.

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as I don't want to be fleeced and pay over the odds for the plate then find vat and DVLA fees added on top.

Thanks in advance

    Hello barriejohn69

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

  • Why? The previous thread title was I wanna and that is what my post is asking. Bit strange really.

The people who browse the motoring board are more likely to know about this topic hence it being moved here :)

Maybe work with the BAZ & try B62, BA2, B82 etc.
We shuffled a few numbers & digits to get the plate closest as possible to what we had in mind & it reads a treat.

I know it's an extra £80 if you don't plan to use the plate immediately but all in cost us £250 from DVLA.

Which, of course, is illegal. ;)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • Why the hell do you want one of them tacky NI numbers on your car? They look utterly dire!!
You can get them from about 150 of the Queens English tho!
My neighbour is called Jill and she bought one for her S Type Jag that reads GIL then 4 numbers. How to make a car look hideous!

Why the hell do you bother to reply to posts with your tacky answers. I want one so I'm getting one. I'm known as Baz and the number plate will say Baz so there we go. I'm certain I could think of a few numer plates that would suit you.

I was thinking of that. My ideal plate would be BAR121E but thats about £25k!

It is just something I have always wanted. I'm not a particularly flash person I have just always wanted a personalised plate since I was young

Get real. I bought it off DVLA. Whats illegal about that.
I MEANT if I wanted an A & I couldn't get it I used an 8 which looked as close as an A.

    Now bad spacing is illegal.

It appeared from your post that you had in some way altered the appearance of the plate: "We shuffled a few numbers & digits to get the plate closest as possible to what we had in mind & it reads a treat."

I apologise if that's not what you meant. I was merely trying to indicate to the OP that misrepresenting a number plate (by way of font, spacing, fixing bolts etc.) is an offence.

As long as your registration plate carries the British Standard mark BS AU 145a or BS AU 145d, then it's nice and legal. Without this, it's not a registration plate at all. ;)
