Ebay Taking Me To Court

I think I should tell everyone and let everyone know how tightfisted ebay are. I recieved a letter from a debt recovery agency this morning, I have to say the first I have ever recieved in my life, I almost pood my pants. So I continued to read through the letter and it said that it was for non payment of ebay seller fees. I always pay my seller fees, this was for my first account I ever opened with ebay back in 2001, and the funniest thing is the amount was for! WAIT FOR IT! £2.45P, how do you fathom this one.
I have to say if they chase people for a couple of quid, they are really scraping the barrel. I think people should bear this in mind when using ebay. Just make sure you pay your fees.
The worst thing is that a direct debit was set up on the account so they could have taken the money anytime:-)
Jus thought I would share with people!!!!

And yet people who are being conned right, left and centre by selling and buying on Ebay are pushed to the side and Ebay don't care. As long as they get their money they're not interested.0

that is just unbelievable!
they are so useless!
obviously it should have been paid but from 2001?! its just like we all know, when its in their interests...you should go the papers or something - make the £2 quid from selling your story!0 -
Email The Register about it, they love Ebay stories."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

 this sounds rather worrying!!!!
I closed my first Ebay account quite a while ago now as I had a problem buyer who ruined my feedback. I was also paying the extra to have an Ebay "shop", which I also cancelled before settling up my outstanding balance, but a couple of months later I received an invoice for £4 claiming to be the fee for the shop account I'd already cancelled and paid for. I emailed them to say it must be an error and never got a reply, just more invoices on a monthly basis. I don't even have that email account anymore so I've not heard anything more about it, even though I now have a new Ebay account just for buying.
Having read this I'm now worried they'll send me a court summons too and I don't even owe them the money

hmmm, obviously you've seeked legal advice on this matter?? All i can suggest is questioning whether ebay provided proper invoicing/requests for payment? Obviously they can't have done so?? What happened to the debt collection folk etc?? Assuming it's a small claims kind of situation, court fees are in the arena of about £300 i think??
Sorry, more questions than answers, good luck

Email The Sun, they love eBay stories. Contact eBay and see if you can pay it, but I'd imagine the debt collection agency's fees would vastly engulf what eBay are claiming. They must be laughing their way all the way to the bankWycombe Till I Die0
