Hi folks
We've recently been working on a new tool which searches online foreign currency providers, and tells you the cheapest place to get euros, dollars or whichever foreign cash you want, called the Travel Money Maximiser.
Now of course, the cheapest way to spend when you're abroad is on the right credit card (read a whole article on Cheapest Spending Overseas). Yet many people want a few local notes in their pocket for the airport or as a fallback, plus it is better than using the worst cards. So, this will tell you where to get it.
For now, we want site users to test it, and let us know any glitches you may experience, or any other feedback you have. To get to it, click on the link below:
I hope you like it. Please reply to this thread with any comments

Good idea.
It would be better if it also offered the choice of choosing travellers cheques as well as foreign currency, also if instead of 'delivered' or 'collected' there was also a 'either' option.
Also, the results don't always seem to sort in the correct order and when they do, the cheapest is sometimes at the top of the list and sometimes at the bottom.

Brilliant idea  It's obvious a lot of hard work has gone into it so well done to the techie peeps. Easy to use and nice aesthetic feel too0

I've posted this before, but it's relevant here:
If you've got a BA Exec Club card and use the link below ONLY, you will get Travelex's standard rate and BA Miles AS WELL:
http://www.travelex.co.uk/AVISBA/ (this was the British Airways afiliate website for Avis with an afiliate link to Travelex)
If you use the following link to the SAME website, you get a rate which is 1.67% LOWER (ie worse!!), whilst still getting the BA Miles:
http://www.batravelmoney.com (this is the British Airways direct afiliate link to Travelex)
So, it might be worth adding categories for BA Miles or other schemes as well??British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Martin, you need to think about adding info which indicates what fees are charged by your bank if you use your Debit Card (etc) to buy money from a foreign exchange provider other than your card issuing bank.
This makes a considerable difference:
eg Barclays will charge you £4.50 if you use your Connect card to buy foreign currency from any supplier other than Barclays...
MOST other banks do this as well IIRC.
This might change the best buy table somewhat!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Does that make you a half wit as well:DGwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0
