complatibility with "Three" sim card

Only 3g phones are compatible with 3 sim cards, though if you hunt around I seem to remember that some older phones are/were compatible. I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but I'm sure 3 changed their sims to stop people from using 2g phones, and will block sim cards when they found people using them in 2g phones.0

Absolutely correct. I put my 3 sim card into a 2g phone (nokia 72501i) and it worked fine for 3 months then they issued me a new sim and barred my old one.
Putting older 3 sims into 2g phones enures that you are roaming on 02 which cost 3 more than using there own network.0 -
my new 3 sim card didn't work with my nokia 6230 so bought a 6630 (must have 3 simlock) on ebay. sold my 6230 and motorola c975 to make the money back. the 6630 has to be the best phone on the 3 network, highly recomended. since changing to the nokia i have had no problems and no dropped calls and great battery life.0

Thanks guys. This means I would have to get another 3g phone for my existing 3 simcard.
