Missing Ex

My ex partner who I have two young children with left employment in December and stopped paying maintenance.. he is trackable with his employment and I have phoned and told the CSA where he is working etc.. however, for the last five months they have done absolutely nothing and when I spoke to them last they had sent a letter to his old address (despite the fact I told them he was no longer living there.)
Whenever I ring the CSA up all they tell me is it is being dealt with in the back office at Bolton and nothing more. I do not have a case worker.
I am at my wits end as to financial problems etc although I am managing to cope . Can the CSA not just track him down through his Army Pension or what happens next presuming he has just done a moonlight flit.
Why won't the CSA inform me of anything they just say Data protection etc I think they are not bothering to do anything - is there anything I can do about this ?

Hi - its probably stuck in the massive Q of work in Bolton.
Bolton isn't CSA, but an outside company, Vertex, who have taken control of the Clerical (broken) cases from the CSA. (Even though there was an excellent clerical case team of experienced trained staff at CSA Birkenhead up until last October!)
Sadly, its likely you're going to have a long wait before they pick up the case and look at it.
If you do a search on the forums for CSA Bolton or Vertex, you might get some idea of the problems.
Its another one of the governments 'bright ideas'!0 -
Thanks for that N71. I spoke again to Bolton today who thought it was hilarious to keep me hanging on for ages to tell me nothing whatsoever. Anyway the upshot of it is I told her to type on her computer screen that "PWC is immediately going to ICE" which she seemed quite happy about. It strikes me as so stupid that they are happy for complaints to be lodged rather than someone just speak to me after all my theory is if I have no-one to speak to then no-one is working on the file it is just collected dust.
Anyways they have eight weeks in which to respond. Wouldn't it be great if in my line of work someone rang in and I told them I would get back within eight weeks.. the system has gone mad!!0 -
Yes - the stupid thing is, theres so many cases for Bolton to deal with, its only the ones with complaints on that get looked at, because of rules made by those up above who don't have to deal with clients!
Ideally, and a perfect work, the cases would be dealt with on a first come first serve basis, oldest cases first. But, it doesn't work like that!
I don't know what will happen in the future, when eventually every one of there cases will have complaints on them - how will they then decide which to deal with then!
Good luck!0 -

Just to tall ya-they're probably all mainly complaints because the cases are broken and dont work0 -

The majority are now complaints, because it takes them so long to go through reams of paperwork and procedures, before they get to Bolton. But there are cases sitting at Bolton without complaints on, (mostly PWC benefits where the £10 extra doesn't matter to them therefore they don't complain), that will be stuck forever while all the complaint cases are looked at first.
Anyway - someone up above has realised that Bolton has gone t*ts-up, and the cases are going back to the 'real' CSA offices and trained staff! They're being sent back in order of importance, with the ICE cases going back as we speak.
So, if you've comlained to ICE, there is a chance it will be sorted!0 -
I had a case last week which had been referred for a Complicance inspector visit - it was an ICE case which was with Bolton. The case couldn't be accepted due to the lack of info, so I rang the Referring Officer in Bolton who was obnoxious and said that she couldn't dig the case out and to ring back in a month. I said that I didn't want an update I need info so that the visit could go ahead as it was an ICE case. She said she was too busy and would try and give me the info at the end of the week. I explained that if she didn't then it would be rejected and returned and no visit would take place and that it would be further cause for complaint by the PWC and indeed ICE - but she didn't care, she just said she would try and call back by the Friday. She didn't so the case was returned undone. Obnoxious cow.0

I do have a job I have to have one because the ex spends his money on himself and himself only.
I expect he is trying to have a life but I have the better life because I am looking after the two children he was quite happy to walk away from.
DO you think kids are raised on fresh air? If so you are obviously some bitter encrusted useless person who probably doesn't care about their kids either.
Go jump off a bridge !!!!!!.0 -

Ok just an update. My case is being dealt with in Bolton or should I say not being dealt with. I received a courtesy telephone call from them today to say that my case will be allocated a case worker in the next couple of weeks and that it has a resolution date in October.
So basically for the last five months or so it has been sitting somewhere collecting dust and all my telephone calls etc have been in vain. I have written a letter of complaint to them as this is not acceptable and when in April, May and June I telephoned them at that stage they kept me hanging on for ages for no reason whatsoever as my case had at that stage not even managed to get passed being given to someone to work on.
I have given up. I have decided to raise my two children on my own as I have been doing in any event and leave their Dad to it. Too be honest he can keep his money and I can enjoy bringing up the children if it is all a struggle then sobeit at least one day the kids will make their own mind up on the person who along with me made them.
I wish everyone else on this site well and hope that the same doesnt happen to them for my own sanity I cannot continue to flog a dead horse.
Thank you to all those who have helped.0
