Microsoft Outlook problems

Hi,
I'm having a wee problem with my Microsoft Outlook today. I can receive e-mails no bother, but i'm unable to send any. I've been e-mailing my husband on the oilrig he works on and he hasn't been receiving them, but i am able to receive the ones that he sends to me.
I even tried sending myself an e-mail, and although it shows up in the Sent Items folder, i still haven't received it.
Yesterday i was sending messages willy nilly with no probs.
Anyone any ideas please,
Thanks.
Mandy

What do you have in the server settings for SMTP?

Under the account settings in outlook, what have you got for SMTP (which is the server name for sending emails)? It should be related to your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

Is the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" unticked?

I would guess that it is a server problem at their end. Try sending using their webmail until it gets resolved.

Try Start, Run, Type cmd then OK, then type ping smtp.homecall.co.uk then Enter.
