Went to Staples @ Reading tonight and noticed they had this 17 inch tft for £99.99...opened a business account to get an extra 20% off......so approx £79.99.... i think the 20% account deal ended tonight but you should still be able to get 10% off if you open an account.....if you can find any tft's.......worth checking though as it isnt advertised and even the staff had to double check!!!
its not digital but i dont care as i wont be playing many games....not time and i have several consoles for that anyway.......

What differences would a user notice between Digital and Analogue TFTs (Didn’t realize there were 2 versions!). Seems a good deal but I play a lot of games myself. Thanks in advance!0

The major benefit of a digital monitor will not be found in games. Digital connections offer better clarity, contrast and colour balance. You're more likely to notice this on the Windows desktop than in a game.
Microsoft's ClearType technology is designed to run on digital flat panel displays, it's the only thing I can think of that explicitly requires a digital connection (you should enable ClearType on analogue connections, it will just make the screen look fuzzy).0 -

I think you will find that there is little ( if any) noticeable difference between a digital connection ( DVI) or an analogue connection.. Ask anyone who has both connection types..
And cleartype makes a big difference to the clarity of text on a TFT screen no matter how you connect your TFT..0 -
Thanks royalsteve for a great find, I was very disapointed when I couldnt get the 24" dell tft (for £500), so have been looking for 2 new 17" tft's as a temporary subsitute. Managed to bag myself the last 2!

Thanks Man!

Can either of you post the Staples product code for this?
I presume you should be able to find this on your receipt or on the outer packaging.
I understand from Staples that this is a 6 digit number that probably starts with 3
Perhaps the barcode might also help my store locate these since it appears they know nothing of this offer.
AND barginsgalore? Which branch did you get yours from ?
Hope to hear from one or both of you very soon.

Just so you know this monitor is now discountinued, as they are very old Nov 2003! It is a fairly good monitor, ok for average usage, not worth more than £150, no where near £300! It came up as £99.00 when scanned, however the ticket price was £300 ish.
Hope this helps someone!0
