    Change service option to 1 Year European Collect and Return Service [subtract £94.00] and update price.

    The Inspiron 1150 may be slightly better value for money. About £23 more, but appears to include WiFi as standard and possibly better peripherals (DVD / HDD). Can't see the exact specs as the Dell link to it is broken.

    HTH - Rufus.

    Can the 1000 be set up for wireless internet access using a standard pc card for the slot in the side of the laptop or would it have to be internally stored, or is it simply not possible to do this on the 1000 model and would the 1150 be better?

    Also with wireless internet use how would you set this up at home, would you have to get a special service provider to run wireless internet or do you just get a normal dial up service (like ntl or bt) and attach a wireless emitter to the phone line which then sends the internet signal to your computer wherever it is inside your house?

    Sorry for being dense

    The difference between the two is £26.

    Advantages

    1000 = 2.2Ghz
    1150 = 2.4GHz

    1000 = No Printer
    1150 = FREE Dell Photo All-In-One Inkjet 922 Printer

    1000 = 256MB RAM
    1150 = 512MB RAM

    1000 = 30GB Hard Drive
    1150 = 40GB Hard Drive

    1000 = 14.1" Screen
    1150 = 15" Screen

    Disadvantages

    1000 = DVD/CD-RW Combo
    1150 = DVD Drive

    In my opinion for £26 more the 1150 is definately the best buy! Neither come with a wireless network card.

    You've got me considering the 1150 now!! I might upgrade to the CDRW/DVD combo for an extra £32.25, still just £410 which seems to be an excellent price!

    You wouldn't use dial-up, you'd use broadband, and a wireless router
    Thanks to all who post constructively.
